Best Western Prince George Downtown

This used to be a Travel lodge. They have really done some amazing reno’s . I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for less than five hours before I woke up scratching and discovered multiple bites on my arms and back. I then found an actual bed bug in the room, so there was no question about what had happened. The staff were apologetic and remained polite, but what happened next was extremely frustrating. I was initially told they could not refund me because I had booked through Agoda, and that communication with Agoda could only be done by email and would take time. I made it clear that I expected a full refund and that it was unacceptable to leave me to sort this out myself after being bitten in their hotel. After leaving the front desk, I found Agoda’s customer service number myself, called them from my vehicle, then walked back inside with Agoda on the phone. Agoda spoke directly with the front desk, confirmed the hotel would authorize a full refund, and processed my refund immediately. So after paying *** for a room, getting less than five hours of sleep, waking up with at least nine bed bug bites, and finding a live bed bug, I also had to find the phone number and coordinate the refund myself after being told that apparently wasn’t possible. The staff were kind and nobody became rude or confrontational, but I am incredibly disappointed with how this was handled. Finding a live bed bug in a guest room is a serious issue, and I sincerely hope management treats this as more than an isolated room problem and brings in professional pest control to properly inspect and address the property. I have photo’s of the live bug I found in the bed as well as the bites but this site is giving an error when I try to up load them

The hotel was clean and quiet. The location is both a pro and a con. It’s close to the downtown amenities of PG (pool/arena/shops etc). It is still downtown Prince George and that means over run with homeless, theft, vandalism. The room in the hotel was clean but had a bit of an odd scent. My 4 year old was complaining about the smell. I told him that’s just what you get in PG. there’s limited parking so you’ll likely end up parking on the street which means you’ll want to clean your vehicle out so it doesn’t get broken into. There’s also a lack of storage in the hotel for larger items. We had bikes with us and the hotel had zero storage for them and I wasn’t going to leave them in the truck. I ended up bringing them into the hotel room which the staff didn’t like very much but we had no other option. The breakfast was decent. All in all I would book again for *** which is what we paid for 2 adults and 2 kids

The heater in the room was obnoxiously loud it shook the walls and the toilet was running the entire time, I got no sleep or sympathy from the hotel.
