I would stay here again. Clean and comfortable for what I needed for a short time.

The room was nicely laid out, very clean. The beds were comfortable, water pressure was good too in the shower. There wasn't "Breakfast" available, however; there was complimentary coffee, and a vending machine where you could get some snacks, but not breakfast food.

I didn't really like that there wasn't any food for breakfast and only a vending machine, which was rather expensive.

Not the largest, but spotless, well-equipped, and perfectly located in downtown Vancouver — thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The receptionist who checked me in — a Canadian lady working at the front desk around 12 p.m. — was exceptionally friendly and considerate. I truly appreciated her support.

For the price it’s worth it

Shared washrooms were spotless and the location is fantastic. Staff were really polite. Great view of BC Place from the window. I will be staying here next time I’m in Vancouver!

Walls seemed pretty thin so I could hear conversations in the rooms next door, but these little inconveniences come with the bargain that is this hotel.

We want to visit again as soon as we can plan a trip.

We loved the view of the lit-up stadium from our room. We loved the minimalist decor. We loved the rooftop garden. We loved the Jam Cafe down the street. We loved walking from the hotel to the cruise port on embarkation day.

We couldn't figure out the thermostat in the room. Fahrenheit Americans, the Celcius numbers flummoxed us. Eventually, we realized you didn't want us messing with the temp, so we cracked open the window.

Vancouver after cruising

Location and staff were great! There is free coffee until 11am or so and water dispenser in the lobby. Nice patio to the 11th floor. We were allowed in earlier and also had a late check out, which was very nice and helpful. Clean.

The view was not the best, room 1202, looking at the back and some storage/garbage facilities below. No toiletries. The bed was too small for two people, but I should have paid attention when booking.

Friendly safe accommodation in a great location.

Great location. We arrived late and staff were so friendly. We were too busy to use all the amenities but they have a kitchen if you need it. Lose to restaurants and fast food like McDonalds for coffee. Easy walk to Chinatown or Gas Town. Felt safe in that we needed our key card to access our floor and only our floor.

Coffee was offered in the lobby maybe a coffee maker in room would be nice.

Well situated and room was clean, i also like that this is a non-profit hotel. Shared amenities i.e. coffee in lobby were great too.

Shared bathroom/shower was a bit odd, but we managed. Parking was quite expensive considering the room cost was already not cheap.

Great place in Vancouver

Although billed as YWCA it's the rooms are more like a good modern hotel, except for the need to use a communal toilet and shower, in which case it reminds more of a hall of residence. 5 mins from metro. Good washer and dryer for use. Good shared kitchen/cooking room.

Kind of sketchy, avoid

There is free coffee

The bed was very uncomfortable, and I guess the hotel seems to be mostly housing and employing users of the social programs they participate in rather than tourists. Thus I would say the vibe is sketchy, and there are strange noises coming out of the rooms. At the same time a room that does not require sharing a bathroom (for a tourist) costs about as much as in a real hotel, so you would be better off booking elsewhere.

A nice, centrally located hotel.

Room was clean and comfortable.

The room was much too warm and the cooling system did not have a low enough setting for a comfortable sleeping temperature (ideally 17 degrees Celsius). Needed more places to hang towels in the bathroom. An additional (comfortable) chair in the room would have been nice.

Superbly located walkable close to everything. Excellent coffee in the mornings. Friendly and feels very safe. Socially responsbile so your $ is going to great causes. Would definitely book again.

Facilities listed weren't always available. The upper patio was "closed" for a private function which was really awkward for guests who turned up like me and got sent away. (maybe let the guests know prior?)... At one point there was a sign putting every washroom on 5 floors out of order for works. Luckily they backed down on that later in the afternoon and opened some more up again.

Great, straightforward hotel in downtown Vancouver!

Fantastic location, downtown Vancouver, near some major attractions, easy to walk from the Sky Train. Very neat and clean, good security for access to the building, and for controlling access to shared bathrooms. Good amenities - nice little coffee machine in the lobby, kitchens on multiple floors (although we didn't cook here), and great to still have a sink in your room so you can wash hands/face/brush teeth without needing to use the shared bathroom. Staff were great, very helpful and friendly. Can't beat the value for money, especially for downtown Vancouver! Also really like that by staying at the YWCA we're contributing to community causes.

We knew what we were getting and found it fine, but a shared bathroom is certainly not everyone's thing - make sure you're aware of what you book! Also the heat wasn't working in our room, so it was cold overnight; but we should just have reported it earlier, as the staff actioned a repair as soon as we mentioned it on check-out.
