Best Western Plus O'hare International South Hotel

The bed was very comfortable, the AC/heater in the room worked quite well and the breakfast options were very good. The front desk night clerk was friendly. The AM manager attentive and efficient and you had tea available, which is harder to find in some hotels these days.

We thought we would have a bathtub but there was only a shower in that room. We were on hold 15 minutes waiting to request a shuttle from O'Hare to the hotel. We had to hang up and call back two times. The shuttle bus was smaller than expected.

There was no TV service (no signal) and when it was reported I was told it was the weather. Meanwhile, the weather was fine. They said someone will come to check and no one came. The customer service was horrible. I was charged $63 plus $50 that no one can explain in addition to the $113 room charge that was paid to Booking. I am told that I will be refunded and I have not got my refund as yet.

There were rat traps in the room and I saw rats outside the building. I did not feel comfortable in seeing this.

Exceeded my expectations. I needed a budget hotel with transfer to airport for a one night stay. Room was clean and comfortable and had great facilities. I am an older Lady travelling alone. However, felt safe and secure at the hotel. Great night's sleep too

My only criticism would be towel size. I am small so was not an issue for me, but could be for a larger Person.

Bad smells . They gave us a dirty room when we got there. We had to go back downstairs and ask for a different room. The second room had a horrible smell and the mattresses were filthy and stained. We woke up to hammering and doing carpeting at 8 o’clock in the morning.

A bit a rudeness when I came in. Booked online got told multiple times the room wasn’t paid for even though the transaction was pending from my account and I needed to have the card present but I paid and left it at home . Irritated manager other staff member who helped was very friendly also helped clear and fix my reservation. Cleaning staff was nice as well. After the issue was resolved manager was a bit nicer after that. All that had to be said was booking taking a while to update your payment please come back or wait a bit and we can check again soon. Didn’t have to be rude. Let your customers know there can be an expected delay in payment when booking online.

Close to airport and restaurants

Airport shuttle was good. Must mention that while drop off - i forgot my fairly expensive phone in the shuttle. The driver came back and gave the phone back - great relief..!!! Thanks a ton ! This was on the 14th Sep.

Room was not cleaned as per their schedule. In fact over the 5 nights of stay - room was cleaned only once. I asked for one cleaning which i think was more than their frequency - which they did (left the bed as is ) - but after that - room was nevrr cleaned

It was the most affordable hotel that I could find that wasn’t near United Center.

The smoke detector in my room, the batteries were dying and it kept beeping. So, I told front desk staff and they said they’d take care of it. I had to remind them several times that there was an issue, before they sent someone up to fix it. Also, the hotel room door had a faulty handle, which made getting into it difficult.

It was not nearly as expensive as other hotels. The breakfast was good. The housekeeping and front desk staff were excellent!

My only complaint is that the towels were really crispy.

Beds and bathroom were dirty with multiple hairs found in both beds in our room as well as hairs everywhere in the bathroom. I spoke to customer service at approximately 10:40 PM on the night of our check in. Gentleman at the front desk told me they didn’t have anyone on site to help clean the room, but that he’d try to get one of the nights compensated. I also asked for a fresh pair of sheets that I said I wouldn’t mind putting on the bed myself if it meant that there wouldn’t be hairs, he said he’ll try, but that didn’t work out because apparently housekeeping is only available after 8 AM. We received a call to our room about 20 minutes later and it was the same gentleman at the desk. We were told the manager denied giving us a night compensated but that he allowed us 2000 points. We thought 2000 points would be enough for a free night next time at another location, but it turned out to be only TEN DOLLARS, which is absolutely ridiculous. My friend went back down as this ruined our mood even more and magically came back with new sheets. I then asked to have at least the bathroom cleaned the next day since we dealt with the sheets on our own (when we shouldn’t have), but coming back later that day there wasn’t a single thing cleaned, all the same hairs in the bathroom were still there. they just changed our garbage and took our old sheets that we took apart ourselves. everything about this stay was not enjoyable. I’ve stayed at Best Westerns before and nothing compares to this. We had booked this hotel for 3 days and all three of us were extremely uncomfortable staying in dirty beds and using an uncleaned bathroom for 3 days straight. Many other reviews complain about dirty rooms with hair in the beds and the bathroom. This is the first time I’ve ever had hairs found in the beds and bathroom, this should most definitely NOT be a common experience shared amongst many other people that have stayed at this Best Western hotel.

Not too much

I was given keys to a room that was already occupied. When I went back down to inform check in, the guy wasn’t all that apologetic and when I said he could easily do that with my room too, he just dismissed it and did not give me any comfort. Overall the hotel is dated, not all that clean (there were hairs in the shower) and wouldn’t stay there again. I have shared photos of what I walked into

Room had a weird smell after turning on the AC unit for a couple of minutes but it quickly went away. I do wish they had a shuttle going to the donald e stephens con center though.

nothing, one of the dirtiest hotels I have ever stayed

It was one of the dirtiest hotels I have ever stayed in. The first room I was assigned was not ready, so they changed it to a first-floor room. The window doesn't even have a lock, so anybody from outside can easily sneak in. Hotel staff also allows couples (unmarried) to stay for a few hours to get intimate and you can listen to all the nonsense.

We had to pay $15.00/day to leave our car at the hotel for 5 nights, even though the additional cost was never mentioned in the booking or reservation information. We paid more than $50.00 more for one night through Booking.com then we would have had we walked in and taken a room. We were 3 minutes late showing up for our scheduled airport shuttle and they left with out us and made no alternative provision for us to get to the airport.

Arturo, the front desk person(also breakfast service person) was very rude and helpless. We had made a reservation for an extra night on a different site and was very rude when asked if we could stay in the same room. At first he said no, but later he said the manager had authorized it. First time ever a hotel does not allow it. He wanted to charge $20 for a ride to train station which was 1.2 miles away. We paid $5.00 on Lyft
