Great spot. Quiet & beautiful.
The weird massive king bed pillows.

Amazing reception staff. Gorgeous room. Flexible with who arrived first and second for check in... Mom and son reunion evening with son arriving from greater Vancouver and mom back from Australia later in the night.
Wish there was room service (but uber eats was a good back up plan) and. Would be good to have a Stocked mini bar (but wine and champagne available at 24/7 reception… affordable too!).

Comfortable beds and relatively clean room
We had a terrible experience at this hotel. When we arrived, we were told that the hotel was hosting a wedding and that our room would be "affected" meaning that we would hear loud music and noise until midnight. We said this wasn't acceptable as we needed sleep before a red eye the next day. After initially being told we could not move to another room, we asked for a refund for the hotel so that we could stay elsewhere. We were told they would need to speak to their manager, who would not arrive until the next day, so they could not refund us. They finally said they could put us in another "less affected" room (which also happened to be a downgrade from the room we paid for). We moved to that room and were unhappy to hear extremely loud music and a pumping bass well into the night. There was also significant noise from above due to thin walls. Wish we had just eaten the cost and moved elsewhere. Hardly got any sleep. Avoid this place.

Clean and comfortable. Nice outlook.
Ferry stopped at 1615 and walk from downtown Vancouver was difficult because of roadworks and underpass didn’t feel safe in the dark. Advise you get a taxi or uber back to hotel.

Location
Worn, gym was very poor, just ok.
Very over priced and felt we had been overpriced as we heard a Canadian visitor get quoted a lot less for a room than we paid.

We loved the walking proximity to restaurants and shops. Driving to Vancouver landmarks was easily done. Definitely on our recommendation list!

It was very central and overlooked the water. There are many places that you could walk to it had a very nice atmosphere to it and the staff were great.

Location location. So good. The public markets are fabu. Lovely walks around the water. Great bed. Great shower.
There was no kettle or tea bags in the room but they did provide them when I asked.
It was nice to have a balcony but it was completely filled with 2 chairs and a table so you had to break your neck to squeeze out there. Still, it was nice to be able to go out and look at the water and boats.

Excellent location very close to Granville Island Food Market. Neighbourhood was quiet. Hotel restaurant was great.
I have never stayed in a hotel where one has to lean across the loo to reach the sink (room 212). This is very unhygienic. I peeked into the room next door when Housekeeping were cleaning it, only to see that their bathroom was way more spacious. There was also a mix-up at check-in regarding the category of room I had booked online. Fortunately I was able to provide emails confirming the type of room, as it was not appearing on their system. After a long 10 hour flight I did not need this - the situation was resolved after about 20 mins.

Staff did no more than the basics. Not terribly welcome or helpful.

The location was great! The view out the window of the boats was awesome!
The food in the dining room was only mid-range but with a fairly high price. The view and the atmosphere was great though.

Beautiful location and access to Granville Island arts district.
After very bad dinner service at the Dockside restaurant, we avoided the restaurant. Food and location is good, but overall service was inattentive and slow (over 75 minutes to get food and multiple requests for simple things). Probably not the servers, but rather bad supervision and training.

Lovely spacious room with air con and a fridge. Very clean. Jacuzzi was warm, large and clean.
At check in, the reception staff gave us no information at all and there was no information in the room. We had to go back to ask about the gym, room service and dining services.
The gym only had a few very light dumbbells but did have a couple of running machines, cross fit, exercise bike and rowing machine.
Granville island is a lovely location but it is difficult to get to other tourist attractions on the city. You will need to uber or get a water taxi, it is too far to walk.

The restuarant views and hotel vibe was lovely. The Staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. Parking was easy for us and location was spot on.
1. Room 308 has a very narrow balcony (as do all on that side) but this one looks directly out onto the metal sides of the building adjacent and to the left it looks straight into the gym which looks straight onto you. The chairs and tables on the balcony are too big to which makes it difficult to access safely and restricts the view to the right. That aspect was daft & very disappointing.

Fantastic reception staff. I enjoyed talking to them. Excellent location and view. Room was clean and comfortable.
Nothing comes to mind; it's a high quality hotel; remember the polo shirt gear when staying here it's not a motel.

Great location, friendly staff
It’s so expensive for what it is but I think that’s just Vancouver in summer!
The staff in the restaurant need more support - it’s clearly understaffed and they’re all working flat out!

We loved the location. Many things to see with in waliking distance. Parking was easy.
The Housekeeping staff was the best we have ever had. They always made sure we had what we needed such as water bottles and towels. They cleaned the room everyday and even had turndown service. They were so nice also!
The hotel is a bit "tired". Our room was very small.

breakfast was very good, but not included in the price. No problem as included breakfasts are rarely any good
Our reservation in a downtown apartment suite was cancelled a few days before our arrival, so we were lucky to book two rooms at Grandville Island Hotel on such short notice. The price was higher than at the place we originally booked, but this was well compensated by a much better location, and the quality of the service.
Given our situation, the only thing that could have been better would be a slightly lower price. But we are not complaining about this.

Pleasant hotel in an exceptional location at the eastern tip of Granville island giving great views over False Creek. Rooms are spacious and light with pleasant views. Staff were charming and the restaurant excellent (both food and wine - with a good wine list with some excellent BC choices).
The decor needs refreshing.
5.0 / 10.0
The location is the only reason to stay here. The hotel itself is overpriced for the quality of rooms. The last update was too long ago. The carpet in the hallways smells musty. The ceilings are popcorn. The bathrooms have been upgraded in fixtures but the arrangement is very crowded. You can't navigate the shower door without banging into the toilet. It is NOT a two person bathroom.
The local ordinances mean you can't eat if you have a dog since dogs are not allowed on restaurant patios. So plan to eat outside at the public market. This isn't a terrible option as the one meal at the hotel restaurant was overpriced for a mediocre waffle. The Public Market meals are excellent for a little less, and you can at least have your dog at the picnic tables and the benches. This works since you really can't leave your dog in the hotel room alone, so trying to eat is a logistical challenge if you don't want to go separately.
If I did not want to spend the weekend on Granville I would choose to stay elsewhere.
Knowing about the False Creek Ferries now, I will consider staying close to one of their stops on my next visit and catch the ferry to Granville Island for the day.
For $2000 for 2 nights the room was very small and pretty average. The air conditioner was extremely noisy. The hallways had a musty smell and the paint was peeling in several areas, as well as having baseboard vents that were dinged and shabby.
The bed was very comfortable which was good since there was only a chair at a desk to sit down. There is a fridge in the room. The TV remote control needed new batteries. It worked half the time.

I liked that I was right next to a beautiful park near Granville Island Public Market and art galleries.
My room was dirty upon arrival - someone else’s soap scum in the shower, a greasy mark and used napkins in the drawer underneath the coffee maker, and a gross stain in the refrigerator. The flush of the toilet didn’t work very well (I had to hold down the button long and hard). An old man spoke to me in a really disrespectful way in the lobby, then I witnessed him contaminate the water dispenser by placing the mouth part of his water bottle right up to the spout, which grossed me out. My room was situated next to where trucks would drop off deliveries, so constant beeping noises, and where staff would go to take smoke breaks.
