Balcony on Lake Pianello

Overall very nice, but communication with property manager was by phone only, as i did not have whats app. and we could not text each other for some reason. Very well appointed with good air conditioning, kitchenware, great view.

Owner was great. He picked us from the train station ant took us to the house and explained a few things to us. The next morning he took us to the airport to get a rental car. We love the place and it’s only our first day here

The property is located at a quiet smaller hillside town along Lake Como with 2 daily ferries. We were impressed by the cleanness, how roomy the house was, and the unbeatable view of the lake with the mountain backdrop from the balconies. The house had everything needed for our short stay. The local grocery store is a 3-min drive down the mountain and the nearby restaurant served fresh Italian pasta and pizza. The manager uses WhatsApp to communicate and is very responsible once connected. The owner keeps a wine closet with a good selection and fair pricing. If you like the hustle bustle of the cities, then you might try Bellagio or Tremezzie. For us this was the perfect stay where we thoroughly enjoyed the peacefulness and soaked in the view. We would definitely love to return.

We arrived at a time arranged by us, earlier than usual and Paulo was very accommodating. She explained everything to us quickly. She was available if we needed advice by phone as the family were away.We enjoyed great outings . We had two keys of the front door (no back door or exit),and on one particular morning we could not get out of the house ,the key just wouldn't turn. We tried to contact both the contact person and owner and failed and eventually after some time the owner did ring us. I sent a text saying I had an emergency. The lower windows had bars on them and which meant there was no escape from the house and in the event of a fire or other emergency it would be a disaster. This needs to be addressed , another exit is necessary. There is a need for a book containing emergency phone numbers like doctor , Hospital , taxi , Church Service etc and also notes on equipment in the house . The house was well equipped with great cooking facilities and lots of ware and containers for picnic. A suggestion would be to bring iron board and iron down stairs. With the roughness of the pathway to the house an extra light at night up further from the house would help . One has to experience this especially for older people. The overall experience was very positive as it is a quiet area with great beauty. The owners were very helpful as were their family after our dilemma. As the weather got cold during our time there was a great stove in the house and we had lots of wood to burn . All of this added to our experience. I would return here if these items were attended to as all my comments are constructive and I do realise all the effort this family is gone to. Safety is paramount to me and door locks can get stuck like ours did, but when its in a remote area it is all the more stressful or if it was the morning we were going home at 5am for an early flight. Anything I have said here I have said to the owner. Paola our contact person was excellent and listened too to us and rang and checked in with us. We enjoyed a wonderful time in Pianello De Lario area and it is a very good place to locate in. Our whole experience was positive and I wish Mauro and Milena every blessing and their family as they came to see us on the last night of our stay and they want the best for their guests. Also when Paulo came to check before we left she too was very helpful and we will return soon to Italy . All my party have lots of good memories of this lovely property.
