Casa Carlo apartment near the center

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Carlo Apartment. From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcome. The apartment is in a great location — close to the train and bus stations, and only a short walk to Bari Old Town and the beach, which made it really easy for us to explore. The owner Mario was so helpful and genuinely wanted us to have a good experience. He gave us great recommendations for local restaurants where we could enjoy homemade food, and he even organised a late-night airport pick-up for us because of our flight time. That was such a big help. But for us, the real highlight was the excursion he organised to Alberobello, Locorotondo and Polignano a Mare. It was such a special experience because we didn’t just see the beautiful tourist places — we got to meet local people, see how they live and learn about their traditions, including how they prepare olives and figs and make local products. That’s what made our trip feel different. We got to see a little bit of the real Puglia, not just the places you find in tourist guides. If you want to experience Bari and Puglia in a more personal and authentic way, we would definitely recommend Casa Varlo. We left with some really lovely memories.🥰💛

10 minutes from the train station and 15 to 20 minutes to the historic centre. 2 good-sized bedrooms with AC and lots of space to unpack. Desks even if you want to work. Ideal for a long stay as there are inexpensive good restaurants nearby, a laundromat, and a grocery store. We weren't cooking, but the kitchen had enough dishes, cutlery, pots, and pans that one could. The owner picked us up at the airport (30 euros), which was a lifesaver after 16 hours of flying and landing at night. Also very responsive and gave lots of good recommendations. That alone is worth it.

There was no AC in the sitting room, but a fan did a decent job. The apartment isn't cute or charming, just functional. The bathroom is a bit tight. Between that and the 2 flights of stairs, I would suggest large people might find it difficult.

Obiekt oceniliśmy na 9 ale spokojnie, za to jakim Człowiekiem jest Mario można dać 11 :-) czyli wychodzi 10. Mario czekał na nas z kluczami, w apartamencie wszystko wyjaśnił jak mamy funkcjonować. Zaproponował spędzanie czasu w Bari i okolicach, wskazał restauracje dające bardzo dobrą relację jakości do ceny. W sytuacji kryzysowej, w której się znaleźliśmy, okazał wyrozumienie i bardzo nam pomógł. W apartamencie było czysto, sypialnie duże z dużymi szafami dobrze klimatyzowane. Dzięki Mario:-)!

Było za gorąco, ale na to wpływu nikt nie ma.

Very clean and comfortable accommodation with excellent air conditioning, it was also very quiet so could sleep well. The host was very helpful, suggesting excellent restaurants, beaches and local destinations to visit. Free local parking and a short walk to the historic centre.
