About this house rental

A neutrally decorated 3 bed house with modern appliances (Large Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Microwave, Kettle, Toaster, Electric Oven, Gas Hob, Large Screen Smart TV)
Other items should you need them (Hair Dryer, Iron, Ironing Board, Vacuum cleaner, Mop & bucket)

Glasgow and Edinburgh are only a train ride or car journey away with many towns in-between.

This home is well equipped for the internet age with super fast WiFi and Sky TV service viewed on a large screen SMART TV. All bedrooms have a USB charging socket for 2 devices at each bedside table for all the phones and tablet computers. All beds are single beds which are a quality mattress on a divan base.

The property is set over two floors with a large back garden which is mainly lawn with a slabbed patio area which has a picnic bench.

Everyone sleeps in a proper bed, no setting up and putting away an uncomfortable bed settee that blocks access to the space. The bedrooms are equipped with single divan beds, either built in wardrobes or standalone wardrobes, chest of drawers and bedside tables with lamps.

All the bedding and towels are supplied, 2 bath sheets and 2 hand towels for each person. Depending on the length of your stay, towels and bedding are changed about once a week on an agreed day.

The property is fully doubled glazed with a combi boiler for all your heating and hot water needs.

The kitchen has (I believe) every pot, pan, utensil, crockery and cutlery item needed for everyday cooking.

The down stairs space is floored with wood effect laminate, the stairs and bedrooms are carpeted, the bathroom has vinyl flooring.

There is a dining area in the living space incorporating a table and 4 chairs a fifth folding chair is provided if you need it, feel free to move the table to best accommodate the seating arrangement you like.

Kids will need to be of an age they can manage the stairs no stair gates are provided.

Used as a base camp for trips to the Fringe and Murrayfield. House is close to the train station which is about 35-40 mins into Edinburgh city. Excellent value for money!

My wife and I were looking for a place that would be central to Edinburgh st Andrew’s and Glasgow. The house met those needs. Also we’re looking for a washer and dryer since we were on the second week of a 3week vacation. Listing said a dryer but there wasn’t one. No grill either. Other than that listing was accurate. We would recommend this place if you were looking at driving and need a central location to base camp from. Nothing to do though in Shotts

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, clean, comfortable with excellent amenities. Location is excellent with a short walk to the train station and local grocery store. Beautiful backyard, with a lovely picnic table. Quiet and safe neighborhood. I brought my sons and their girlfriends to Scotland to meet family and see where I was born.

Our stay
Our stay
We wanted a place to stay somewhere between Edinburgh and Glasgow with easy access to the train station. This was ideal. We were also able to get up to Stirling and Loch Lomond by car with ease. The house was comfortable, with everything you need for a short stay. The lounge could be made a bit more homely with the rearrangement of the furniture and perhaps the addition of a carpet in the middle of the room. Parking is on road but we didn't have a problem finding a space. I would like to suggest that an information folder is provided with instructions on how to operate the heating, dishwasher and so on, together with an outline of your requirements eg what do do with linen when leaving, recommendations for what to visit, where to eat. A bath mat would also be an added bonus. Thank you for having us.

We stayed here for a month while we waited to get into our new house - a family of four adults. This place was a godsend - spacious, clean, had everything you could ever need, street parking available right outside and really friendly neighbours. We had no issues whatsoever, but did get to meet the host, James, when he came to change the beds and towels - a service we have never received in any other self catering place we’ve stayed in. Train station round the corner to both Glasgow and Edinburgh, Co-Op nearby, takeaways and restaurants. Don’t even hesitate with this place - just book it!

Clean and tidy house with garden, on a quiet residential street. All kitchen basics provided. Even had Sky TV, Netflix and WiFi Internet. Great location between Edinburgh and Glasgow. 50min drive into centre of Edinburgh. Perfect for day trips out into either city, Stirling or to surrounding country side. Kids had plenty of space to play and relax after long days out.

Very clean, everything we needed for a stay. Kitchen was very well equipped, plenty of towels, hundreds of tv channels! Easy parking and a huge garden. Good location. Wifi dropped a few times but other than that no complaints!
