About this house rental
Villa Renata is a welcoming apartment that covers the entire top floor of a villa located on a hillside, facing the sea. It sleeps five people. From Villa Renata you will have a splendid view of the greenery and of the sea. Villa Renata is 80 square meters (860 square feet). It features a wide private terrace with a view of the sea, a private garden, air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms the units are installed) and WI-FI Internet access.
You will be roughly 1 km (0.6 miles) from the center of Santa Maria di Castellabate, roughly 500 meters (550 yards) from shops and the stop for the local bus. You will find the closest restaurant at 400 meters (440 yards) and the closest beach at roughly 1 km (0.6 miles). You will reach Villa Renata from the garden without having to climb any steps.
To stay at Villa Renata you will need a car. You will be able to park it inside the entrance gate.

Villa Renata is built on the slope of a hill covered by pine trees. It is the top level of an ancient country house, and it is surrounded by a plot of land where citrus trees and olive trees are grown. The sloping terrain has made it possible to build a private entrance to the villa, with an entrance gate that is totally independent of the rest of the building. As a matter of fact, the rest of the building, which has been built by the owners for their own vacations, can't bee seen from Villa Renata as it is located under the large terrace. Standing on the terrace or in the garden of Villa Renata you will not be able to see other houses around you, except for those far away, scattered here and there in the fields and in the olive groves, or clustered close to the sea.
From the main gate you will enter a small fenced rustic garden, where there is the parking space.
In the garden you will find oleanders with pink flowers, a large fig and a few century-old olive trees. In the shade of the trees there is a table with chairs, as well as a long brickwork bench on which you will be able to seat and enjoy the wide view of the vegetation and of the sea.
The interior of the house is airy and luminous. All the rooms have a view of the sea. From the terrace you will enjoy a 360-degree view, that goes from the hill covered by the typical loca pine trees, behind the house, to the valley below and all the way to the sea.
The view of the sea embraces the whole small bay of Santa Maria di Castellabate, from the cliff of Punta Licosa, with its lighthouse, to the south, to the cape of Punta Tresino, to the north. This tract of the Mediterranean sea, famous for the beauty of its bottom and rich in archaeological findings of the Greek and Roman ages, is a protected sea park and it is a real paradise for divers.
On clear days your sight can reach the entire Gulf of Salerno, with the Amalfi Coast and the island of Capri on the background. From this place you will also enjoy spectacular sunsets over the sea and the view, at night, of the lights of the Gulf.
Staying at Villa Renata you will enjoy the sun, the sea, the green of the pine trees, the quiet of a small, charming, tourist center, the good local cuisine based on the genuine produce of the Cilento National Park, such as mozzarella cheese, olive oil and wine.
Villa Renata is an excellent starting point to visit the Cilento National Park and the archaeological excavations of Paestum and Velia, the excavation of Pompeii and Herculaneum, the Amalfi Coast and Capri.
Terrace
The terrace is 70 square meters (750 square feet) large. It is partly shaded by a retractable awning. It is equipped with a small sofa and armchairs, as well as with a table, chairs and sun loungers. From the terrace you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea and of the hills.
Garden
The garden is 50 square meters (540 square feet) large. It is partly shaded by perfumed oleander trees and by fig trees. You will be able to reach it from the main entrance hall. It is equipped with a table, chairs, a sun umbrella and an external shower. From the garden you will enjoy a gorgeous view of the sea and of Santa Maria di Castellabate and of the surrounding countryside.
Living Room
The living room is paved with characteristic tiles with inlaid designs. The furnishings are cozy and comfortable. The furnishings include a sofa, two armchairs and a desk. In this room you will find a television (local channels). From the living room you will be able to enter the terrace with a view of the sea through a French door.
Kitchen
You will be able to enter the kitchen through a corridor. It is well equipped, with a four-burner gas cooker, an electric oven, a refrigerator with freezer, an Italian-style coffee-maker and an American-style coffee-maker (bring your filters!). There is an age-old fireplace made of bricks. The dining table can accommodate six guests. The kitchen has a window with a view of the greenery and of the sea at a distance.
Bedroom 1 with en-suite bathroom
You will be able to enter the first bedroom from the corridor. The bedroom has a matrimonial bed (160 cm/63 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). From the bedroom you will be able to enter the terrace with a view of the sea through a French door. The bedroom is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, equipped with a washbasin and a toilet.
Bedroom 2
You will be able to enter the second bedroom from the corridor. It has two twin beds (80 cm/32 inches), that can be pushed together into a matrimonial bed if requested (please contact our staff in advance to make arrangements) and a single bed (80 cm/32 inches). From the bedroom you will be able to enter the terrace with a view of the sea through a French door. The bedroom is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
Bathroom
The bathroom is equipped with a washbasin, a toilet and a fully enclosed shower. You will be able to enter the bathroom from the corridor.
Laundry room
You will be able to reach the laundry room from the terrace. Here you will find a washing machine at your disposal.

What a wonderful nine nights we spent at Villa Renata. We lived outside on the beautiful terrace, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The hosts are delightful, generous and very welcoming from time to time delivering fresh fruit from their garden as well as a bottle of their own lovely wine.
The villa was as described on the website, very clean and had everything you need. It had a lovely feel to it, very Italian which is exactly what we wanted.
You will need a car and the parking is very good. We did walk a couple of mornings down to the charming village but I wouldn't like to try that in the heat of the afternoon. It did help justify the pastries every morning tho!
Do learn to use the Italian coffee maker it was wonderful.
We are the biggest Fan's of Summer in Italy. Its at least 5 years ago I found this website and subscribed to your newsletters. I made contact a couple of years ago as we thought we may be coming over but our plans were derailed. Never the less Luca kept in touch and when it came time to book I sent the most bizarre wish list which Luca fulfilled: in fact he exceeded what was on my list. As we encountered travel disruptions along the way an email to Luca and the problems were solved. We have never, in all our travels, encountered such exceptional service. We would not dream of booking with any other company. Summer in Italy is the absolute best. Well done Luca and your brilliant team.

We love relaxing on the terrace of Villa Renata, with the amazing view.
We prepared most of our meals at the villa. The gas stove top works like a charm (did not use oven). The outdoor shower is our favorite feature (after the terrace and view).
Franco and Angela are gracious hosts.
We booked with you because we have had such positive experiences with you before. Your customer service is excellent. You have responded to and acted on our suggestions in the past. As I said before, we wish you had apartments everywhere we travel!

Excellent location, owners were very helpful. A very good quiet week away from it all. The location is very good. We had a car, and you need a car as the steep hill is hard work in the heat.
Accommodation was made ready for us before the allotted time. When we did have an issue the owners were quick to try and resolve.
