Right on Top of the World sits at the very top of Legacy Mountain, with nothing above it but sky and the Great Smoky Mountains rolling out in every direction. Mornings start with fog lifting off the ridgelines, and evenings end with the whole range turning orange and pink. It’s a big log cabin with room for up to 58 guests across 12 bedrooms, and every bedroom has its own attached bathroom, so even a full house never has to line up for the shower. That setup makes it one of the easiest places in the Smokies to bring a company retreat. The open living spaces work for a morning kickoff or an evening debrief, the long dining table fits a working lunch, and everyone still gets a private room and bath to retreat to at the end of the day. It works just as well for family reunions, church groups, and wedding weekends where everyone wants to stay under one roof. The bedrooms are spread across three levels, and nearly all of them follow the same pattern: a king bed plus one or two twins, so couples, kids, and solo travelers can share a room without anyone drawing the short straw. Four bedrooms sit on the basement level, three on the main floor, and five upstairs. The one that breaks the pattern is Bedroom 10 on the upper floor, set up bunkhouse-style with four queen beds, which tends to become the kids’ room or the spot where the groomsmen pile in. Beyond the bedrooms, the living room, theater, and game room each hold sleeper sofas, four queen and four twin sleepers in all, which is how the cabin reaches its full count without anyone ending up on the floor. The kitchen was set up with a crowd in mind. Two refrigerators, two ovens, two dishwashers, and two microwaves mean breakfast for the whole group moves quickly, and a coffee station keeps the early risers happy. The island and bar seating give people a place to gather while the cooking happens. Downstairs is for downtime. The theater is ready for a proper movie night, with a popcorn maker and a mini fridge right there so nobody has to run upstairs for snacks. Next door, the game room has a pool table and air hockey, and a lounge area with extra seating gives the group plenty of room to hang out. From October through April, the fireplace makes the living room the coziest spot in the house. Outside, long covered decks with rocking chairs look straight out over the mountains, and two hot tubs give everyone a chance to soak under the stars. The cabin sits right next to the Legacy Mountain clubhouse, so access to the community’s seasonal outdoor pool and the pavilion with its outdoor fireplace is just a few steps away. Legacy Mountain Ziplines operates just down the mountain for anyone who wants to see the Smokies from above. This corner of Sevierville feels tucked away and quiet, with long views and very little traffic, but the area’s biggest draws are a short drive away. Dollywood and the Pigeon Forge Parkway are minutes down the road, along with The Island and its giant observation wheel. Downtown Gatlinburg and the Sugarlands entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park make an easy day trip for hiking, waterfalls, and scenic drives. Bringing an even bigger group? If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval there is a fine of $500 per pet. - There are active bears in the area. If you need a trash pickup during your stay, please give us a call. - The community pool is seasonal and open Memorial Day through Labor Day. - Fireplaces are seasonal and available October through April. - We are not responsible for lost and found items left in the home. - Quiet hours: 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM - All guests must follow our good neighbor policy and may not engage in illegal activity. - No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises. - Streaming services are available with guests' own accounts. - Please note: Indoor fireplaces are seasonal and operational from October 1 through April 30. Parking: - Parking for up to 8 vehicles. - The HOA does not allow buses or trailers. Large groups should plan to arrive in passenger vehicles. This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs. As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation. Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees. We've enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols and are taking extra care to disinfect all surfaces between reservations with hospital-grade disinfecting solutions. As a reminder, we do work with 3rd party vendors to maintain the property, and although we adhere to the strictest CDC guidelines and advise all contractors to wear PPE equipment, we can not always enforce. We strongly advise guests to please deny access if any vendors fail to meet and adhere to these standards. IDs will be requested for verification after booking.
