Beach and sea: A short bike and walking path leads through blooming tulip fields, over the dunes, and down to the sea.
Many kilometers of wide, sandy beach await you, inviting you to enjoy a dream vacation.
This vast, clean beach has not yet been overrun by mass tourism and has even been awarded the EU’s “Blue Flag” environmental prize.
As a result, nudists can also find their own area away from the dune crossings.
Various beach cafes—one of which is open year-round—enrich your long vacation days.
Whether on the terrace with a cool glass of wine or, in winter, inside by the window with hot punch after brisk walks in all kinds of weather: you simply feel at home there!
In the park, there are several charging stations for electric cars located along a parking lane by the swimming pool.
We ask our guests to bring their own bed linens and towels.
Children are welcome: We’re happy to provide a crib, bed rail, changing table, high chair, and baby bathtub for your child(ren).
In the “Berging,” the adjacent bike storage room, you’ll also find sand toys for the beach or playground.
Enjoy your vacation any time of year: Basically, it’s beautiful here any time of year.
After all, a vacation isn’t about the season—it’s about what you make of it and what you can take back into your everyday life.
Even a stormy fall or winter day that ends with a nice walk back to the warm vacation home is sure to be deeply relaxing.
Fort Kijduin (Den Helder)—an old fort built in 1811 by Napoleon, now converted into a museum featuring a large North Sea aquarium.
In Den Helder, you can visit the Naval Museum, where you can see an old submarine, among other things.
For children, De Helderse Vallei is highly recommended, featuring a free petting zoo, an observation tower, and a climbing park.
A short ferry ride to Texel—whether on foot or by car—is well worth it to explore this picturesque island, visit the Ecomare seal sanctuary to watch a feeding, or tour the local brewery.
Classic car enthusiasts will also find plenty to enjoy. In Schagen, you’ll find German, English, French, and, of course, Dutch “old-timers.”
And then it’s almost a “must” to experience the famous cheese market in Alkmaar on a Friday.
In addition, the old town features numerous old drawbridges and patrician houses—both of which make for impressive photo opportunities.
The largest covered flea and antique market in Europe—popularly known as the “black market”—is located in Beverwijk. There’s plenty of food and drink available there as well.
