Your luxurious getaway awaits in Sanford at this beautiful lakefront house only 20 minutes from Wells and Ogunquit beaches. With four spacious bedrooms, including 3 king beds, 2 twin beds, a convenient trundle bed and a loft guests will find plenty of room to relax in the privacy of your own bedroom. The four bathrooms feature a mix of bathtubs, showers, most with bidets, ensuring comfort and privacy for everyone. Enjoy a superb blend of classic charm and modern comfort throughout the home. Exposed beams and 20 foot ceilings make the great room grand, along with expansive views of the lake and yard are awesome! The master suite also has cathedral ceilings and great views down the lake, as do two other bedrooms.
The house is located at the northern end of Bauneg Beg Lake near where the Great Works river flows into the narrow end of the lake. At the end of a dead end road, traffic is not a concern and there are only a few neighbors. The estuary upriver is mesmerizing with no houses, very few bugs (!) where fish, turtles and birds abound - a nature lover's delight! Nearly 300 feet of shared waterfront include a small beach with some small stones, a dock and enchanting views across the narrow section of lake to undeveloped woods on the far side, no houses in view!!
Our location is very convenient to town, shops, super markets, restaurants, beaches and our favorite hiking spot at Bauneg Beg mountain is about 10 minutes away, which features 2 different hikes that last around an hour and 1 1/2 hours for most. Wells and Ogunquit beaches are all within about twenty minutes along with the many tourist attractions they offer! Kennebunkport is also about half an hour drive and Portland is about 45 minutes drive.
The house is newly constructed, equipped and supplied with nearly every modern convenience imaginable. It shares a large, lakefront lot with a newly-renovated cottage that sleeps 6 comfortably and is also decked with modern conveniences and awesome natural views thru large triple-pane windows. Both dwellings can be rented together for large parties with up to 15 guests. The yard, fire pits, beach and dock are shared should both dwellings be occupied.
Whether you’re unwinding after a day of exploring or gathering for a meal, this enchanting retreat offers a welcoming atmosphere for a large group or possibly two families .
Excellent bass, pickerel and croppy fishing - right off the dock and/or there are 4 kayaks available for free use.
There is a huge deck overlooking the lake that is partly covered for shade and when it is raining. There is off-street parking for up to 4 vehicles. No pets.
