About this cottage rental

Walk 110 feet down a private cedar path and slide into Percy Lake from your own dock. This newly built A-frame includes 2 kayaks, a 3-seater canoe, an inflatable water slide, and a floating canopy island for shaded lake lounging. Inside: Starlink internet, an authentic Finnish cube sauna, on-site EV charger, chef's kitchen, and a games room with a 9-foot pool table and Infinity Game Table. Minutes from Algonquin Park. Four bedrooms sleep 8. Two and a half hours from Toronto.

The space
The Morning You'll Remember
You come down the open-tread staircase with coffee in hand and stop on the landing. Percy Lake is glass-still through the 20-foot triangular gable window, mist rising off the surface, framed by exposed pine beams that glow in the early light. The espresso machine is hissing. Loons are calling from the cove. Outside, your private path leads 110 feet through cedars to your dock, where the canoe is waiting. Whether you've driven up from Toronto for the weekend or settled in with the family for ten days, this is the part of every morning you'll remember most.

The Main Floor
The main floor opens into one continuous space framed by the A-frame's cathedral ceiling and three walls of glass facing the lake. White slipcovered sectionals face a wall-mounted smart TV with streaming services pre-loaded. A waterfall-edge quartz island anchors the kitchen, with double wall ovens, an induction cooktop integrated into the surface, panel-front refrigeration, dishwasher, commercial-grade espresso machine, kettle, and 4-slice toaster. Natural-stained cabinetry runs floor to ceiling, broken by floating shelves and a window over the sink that frames the forest. A live-edge dining table seats 10 beneath an industrial linear pendant lit with golden filament bulbs. Sliding doors open to your 34-foot lakefront deck with frameless glass railings, where morning coffee turns into afternoon reading and evening drinks without anyone having to move.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms
The four bedrooms spread across three levels for privacy. Each has whitewashed pine accent walls, premium hotel-grade linens, woven rattan sconces, mirrored closets, French doors or large picture windows, and individually controlled mini-split heat pumps. Two main-floor bedrooms feature queen beds with pull-out trundles for flexible sleeping. Upstairs, a private loft bedroom with its own bathroom overlooks the great room from the second level. Downstairs, a fourth bedroom sits beside the rec room with its own full bathroom. Two of the bathrooms are showpieces: one features a freestanding soaking tub framed by tall black-trimmed windows facing the forest, with geometric textured wall tiles wrapping the room. The other showcases bookmatched gold-veined Calacatta marble, a frameless walk-in glass shower with rainfall head, a backlit LED mirror, and cedar-toned linen storage stacked with rolled towels.

What Makes This Stay Different
The features that separate this place from every other rental on Percy Lake start outside. A few steps from the deck, a detached 10x10 ft cube sauna delivers the full Finnish experience: salt-rock backlit ceiling, wood-fired heater, hanging birch vihtas, felt sauna hats on the wall, and a robe-ready anteroom for cooling between rounds. Down the path, your private 16x20 ft dock sits on Percy Lake, the top lake in the Gull watershed, with deep glacial water clean enough to swim straight off the boards. The lake toys are already here: two kayaks, a 3-seater canoe, an inflatable water slide off the dock, and an inflatable floating canopy island for shaded lounging in the middle of the bay. Inside, the lower-level rec room holds a regulation Matrix ping pong table, a hand-carved 9-foot pool table with both pool and snooker ball sets, and an Infinity Game Table, a touchscreen tabletop that loads hundreds of digital board games for the rainy afternoon every cottage week has. A stargazing telescope lives by the great-room glass, pointed at one of southern Ontario's darkest skies. The A-frame architecture itself is the feature, with cathedral pine beams, white oak floors throughout, and a triangular window the size of a small mural that frames the lake from sunrise to sunset.

Guest Comfort and Logistics
You'll find Starlink high-speed internet throughout the property, fast enough for streaming on every TV, video calls from the home office, and remote work from cottage country. Smart TV with major streaming services is in the great room, and mini-split heat pumps are in every bedroom for personalized climate. Eight on-site parking spaces accommodate multiple vehicles, with a circular driveway that handles SUVs and trailers easily. A dedicated on-site EV charger keeps Teslas and other EVs ready for the drive home with no public-charger detour required. Self-check-in through a smart lock makes late arrivals after the drive up from the GTA simple. The home runs on a drilled well and modern septic, with hot water capacity sized for a full house at peak demand. Triple-glazed black-framed windows keep the home quiet and hold warmth on the coldest Haliburton nights. Recycling and waste are sorted with clear bin labels. Linens, hotel-grade towels, hand soap, dish soap, paper goods, and starter coffee are stocked at arrival.

The Neighborhood
You're on Alpine Ridge Drive, a quiet ridge road on Percy Lake at the northern end of Haliburton County. Percy Lake is one of the cleanest lakes in the region, stocked with lake trout since the 1960s alongside native smallmouth bass and silver trout. With fewer than 200 property owners on the entire lake, the shoreline stays quiet even on summer holiday weekends. Algonquin Provincial Park is minutes northeast, with over 30 hiking trails, thousands of interconnected lakes, and one of the largest tracts of protected wilderness in Ontario. The Haliburton Highlands Water Trails offer 28,000 hectares of canoe routes through the Frost Centre and Poker Lakes systems, with kayak and canoe rentals available locally. The Haliburton Forest Canopy Walk, the longest treetop boardwalk of its kind in the world, sits 30 minutes away alongside the Haliburton Wolf Centre. Haliburton Village is roughly 25 minutes south, with patio dining at Hook Line & Sinker on Head Lake, Maple Avenue Tap & Grill, the Haliburton Sculpture Forest, and the 35 km Rail Trail for cycling. Boshkung Brewing and Rhubarb Restaurant in Carnarvon are about 30 minutes by car. In winter, Sir Sam's Ski/Ride is a 12-minute drive with 14 groomed runs and the Eagle View Observation Tower. Toronto is two and a half hours south.

House Rules That Protect the Stay
A few rules protect what you'll love about this place. The cottage sleeps a maximum of 8 adults, no exceptions, to keep the home, septic, and well systems performing the way you expect. Quiet hours run from 10pm to 8am out of respect for neighbors and the wildlife you came to hear. No parties or events, please: this is a residential road and the property is externally monitored. No smoking anywhere on the property, indoors or out, including the deck and dock. Pets are not allowed because some guests have severe allergies. The sauna requires a brief safety walkthrough at check-in, included in your welcome message. Check-in is at 4pm and check-out at 11am to give the cleaning team time to deliver the home you booked.

Book With Confidence
This place rewards two families sharing the cottage life, small groups of friends running an extended weekend, and couples celebrating something worth driving north for. It works best for guests who like to cook together, soak between activities, paddle or hike during the day, and gather around a long table at night. We respond within an hour during daytime, and the digital welcome guide answers most questions before you ask. Book midweek for the best rates, lock in summer long weekends and fall foliage dates early, and message us anytime. The lake is waiting.
