The space
Apple Tree Cottage is an 2 bedroom 1 bathroom house.
Flooded with sunlight through the day, high ceilings, beautiful hardwood floors and a garden view from every window in the house.
Bedroom 1 has a queen bed and Bedroom 2 has a double. Quality linen and towels are provided.
The open plan kitchen and dining area is equipped with everything you need for preparing meals.
The cosy living area has books, boardgames and a slow combustion wood fire.
The retro bathroom with shower has all the essentials provided, plus laundry corner with washer and dryer should you need it for a longer stay.
The garden invites you to wander, and if you venture to the very bottom of the property, you may even discover a small creek after rain.
In spring, the garden erupts into an extraordinary display of blossom and colour, making it easy to lose yourself among its many corners.
Parking is available on the street or in the driveway or you can reach the cottage on foot easily from the train station.
Guest access
Guests have exclusive access to the whole house and garden and do not share the property with anyone during their stay.
Other things to note
Please note that Apple Tree Cottage is a rustic, low-technology experience that is typical of the old-fashioned mountain cottage of yesteryear.
We do not have TV, electronic games, or wifi. There is 5G for your phone, and a bluetooth speaker.
We are a short stroll from Blackheath village where you can visit lovely restaurants, cafes, antique stores, art galleries, book shop, luxury bath house and wine bars.
Our property will be attractive to those seeking an escape from the noise of the city, birdwatchers, and bush walkers.
Autumn days are usually mild, and cool at night. Winter can be very cold, so bring warm clothing. There is slow combustion wood fire heater, electric heaters in the bedrooms, and a strip heater in the bathroom. Electric blankets are on both beds.
Blackheath summers can have occasional very hot days, but cooler nights. We have portable fans, and there are plenty of shady trees in the yard.
Blackheath Pool is a delight and open in summer from the first weekend in November to the first weekend in March. There are also local creeks and swimming holes to explore for a dip.
