Welcome to Bull Mountain Lodge — a peaceful, family‑friendly retreat just minutes from Red River Gorge, Miguel’s Pizza, Natural Bridge State Park, Hollerwood Off‑Road Park, and the Kentucky River. The lodge is tucked away in a private wooded area overlooking downtown Beattyville, offering the perfect blend of seclusion and quick access to local restaurants, shops, and small‑town charm. “Horse Wisdom Experience”
Located at our own Bull Mountain Farm the “Horse Wisdom Experience” is one of the most loved activities by guests — especially kids, families, and anyone curious about horses. This 2‑hour, hands‑on session takes place at our Bull Mountain Farm, located just 4 miles away, and features a gentle Thoroughbred horse along with our Certified Equine‑Assisted Coach.
Guests learn how horses communicate through energy, intention, and body language, then get to practice real groundwork skills like leading, stopping, and connecting through calm presence. Kids absolutely love grooming, brushing, and interacting with the horse, and adults often find the experience surprisingly grounding and meaningful.
This is a wonderful activity for families, climbers, couples, women’s groups, and retreat guests who want something unique, peaceful, and memorable during their stay.
