Cozy vacation rental, ideal for 2—great view, hiking trails right outside the door

Our lovingly furnished vacation rental is located in a village of 42 residents and offers a beautiful view of the Rotenberg and the surrounding cultural landscape. For a long walk or a hike along the European long-distance hiking trail E1, you can leave your car behind and lace up your hiking boots right outside the front door. Nevertheless, the historic old towns of Detmold and Lemgo are only a 15-minute drive away. You can wind down at the end of the day on your private terrace.
The apartment is located on the 1.5th floor of our old farmhouse. You can access it via the shared stairwell. Once you step through the apartment door, you’ll enjoy your privacy. The hallway features shoe cabinets and a coat rack. On the left, you’ll find the kitchen, which has three floor-to-ceiling windows facing the courtyard.
The room also includes a cozy sofa and, of course, a fully equipped kitchen with high-quality appliances such as a ceramic cooktop, a Bosch oven, and a dishwasher.
Straight ahead from the hallway, you enter the living/bedroom, which features a 1.60-meter-wide bed in an alcove, a workspace, and a sofa with a view of the greenery or the small TV, where you can either log in to your streaming service or watch TV via DVB-T. Of course, you’ll also have a closet and enough space to store your suitcase.
From the living/bedroom, you’ll enter the naturally lit bathroom, which is equipped with a shower, a toilet, and a sink, as well as a wall-mounted radiator and radiant floor heating. Here you’ll find towels, shampoo, soap, and a hair dryer, of course.
You’ll reach your apartment—which is for your exclusive use—via the shared stairwell. We’ve also set up a small patio with a fire pit and patio furniture for you in the courtyard.
We no longer farm on our property ourselves. However, we still have a large orchard with many varieties of apples. If you visit in the fall, you can try them. Otherwise, there’s naturally always plenty to do on a large property. You’ll occasionally hear a tractor, and in the summer, harvesters are out in the fields around us. And since we live here, you might hear us laughing and going about our daily lives. Most of our visitors, however, find it wonderfully peaceful here and enjoy seeing deer and eagle owls, as well as a sky with little light pollution. So we hope you’ll feel right at home with us!
