The large garden is one of the real highlights of Ammonite Cottage, with two separate seating areas making the most of its clifftop position and spectacular views. At the top of the garden, a seating area sits on decking, giving you an elevated outlook across the surrounding coastline and sea. Further down the garden, you'll find a patioed seating area with even better views, making it a wonderful spot for an alfresco meal, an evening drink or simply watching the sea and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
There is private parking for two cars, making arrival easy and giving you a convenient base for exploring the surrounding area.
Port Mulgrave itself is a small and peaceful former fishing village tucked away on the Yorkshire coast. With its rugged cliffs, secluded setting and beautiful sea views, it is a wonderful place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The surrounding coastline is perfect for walking, with spectacular clifftop scenery and access to some of the Yorkshire coast's most beautiful stretches of countryside. The village has a wonderfully peaceful, tucked-away feel, while nearby coastal villages offer places to eat, drink and explore.
There is plenty to discover further afield, with the popular seaside towns and villages of Runswick Bay, Staithes, Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby all within easy reach. Spend the day exploring Whitby's historic harbour and atmospheric old town, climb the famous 199 steps to Whitby Abbey, or enjoy fish and chips overlooking the sea. The picturesque fishing village of Staithes is perfect for wandering its narrow streets, discovering independent shops and enjoying the harbour, while Runswick Bay offers a beautiful sandy beach.
