About this bed and breakfast
The Evening Shade offers a comfortable, inviting retreat within The Caldwell House, our historic 1907 estate in the heart of downtown Abbeville.
Surrounded by the character and charm of this century-old South Louisiana home, guests have a private space to relax while enjoying the gracious shared areas that make a stay at The Caldwell House feel distinctly different from a traditional hotel.
Guests are welcome to enjoy designated shared spaces throughout the estate, including the dining room, parlors, porch and gardens. Complimentary coffee and a light grab-and-go breakfast are available for overnight guests each morning.
Whether you're visiting for a wedding or celebration, spending time with family, exploring Acadiana or simply enjoying a weekend away, the Evening Shade offers a memorable historic stay paired with warm South Louisiana hospitality.
