If walls could talk. Currently Napanee's oldest homestead . built prior to confederation actually prior to Canada's railway. Located in the heart of downtown Napanee and directly across from our historical Springside Park and Trail the Red Tavern is a very unique and quaint property. Sloped bedroom ceilings ,creaky stairs a and a 180 year old dining room cabinet it was once a Tavern in the 1800's and hosted a variety of local well to do citizens , business and politician including the likes of Sir John A Mac Donald.There are documented stories of the local farm boys settling their differences in the back yard after a beer or two. Currently it has been in our families name since the late 1940's and while not in its original state from the 1700 hundreds it is a unique just the same. Cozy in the winter time and breezy in the summer months you can park your car and stroll through our Parks or downtown core within a ten minute walk.
