Worthing has become one of the South Coast’s most appealing seaside towns. Increasingly seen as a more relaxed, better-living alternative to Brighton, it offers great restaurants, bars and a growing local scene, without the crowds with its own events such as Worthing Park Run, Worthing Runfest (Half Marathon, 10K, and Family Run), and the multi-week arts-focused Worthing Festival featuring music, theatre, and workshops. Enjoy local football action with Worthing FC and a variety of summer, cultural, and outdoor events along the coast.
There is a strong and evolving food and drink scene, with independent cafés, restaurants and bars, alongside standout spots like CrabShack and Perch on the Pier.
The town has a creative, coastal feel with galleries, studios and a steady flow of events. Brighton and Hove is just 20–30 minutes away, giving you easy access to festivals, nightlife, shopping and major events, while staying somewhere calmer, easier and far less crowded.
