About this house rental
THE SPACE
The heart of Treetops is its spacious, well-equipped kitchen, with plenty of room to cook, chat and spend time together.
Facilities include two Neff electric ovens, an induction hob, KitchenAid, blender, toaster, kettle and bean-to-cup coffee machine. There's a large fridge-freezer as well as a separate wine fridge.
The kitchen has a dining/breakfast area, with a table seating eight and breakfast-bar seating for a further three.
There's also a separate dining room, centred around an impressive antique dining table (seating 10) that's made for long, relaxed meals with family and friends.
The cosy living room features a fireplace with log burner and plenty of comfortable seating, plus a TV with all the usual streaming apps. There's also an integrated Sonos system, so you can enjoy your own music throughout the ground-floor spaces.
We have an office with super-fast fibre broadband, making Treetops equally suitable for longer stays or working remotely.
The house is also equipped with modern, energy-efficient technology including solar panels, solar thermal collectors and a ground-source heat pump.
THE BEDROOMS
Treetops has five bedrooms, sleeping 10 guests:
Bedroom 1: Super King-size bed, private en-suite bathroom and separate dressing room.
Bedroom 2: Double bed and private en-suite bathroom.
Bedroom 3: Double bed.
Bedroom 4: Two twin beds and private en-suite bathroom.
Bedroom 5: Bunk bed.
An additional single bed is available on request, which we can set up in any room for added flexibility / groups of 11.
A travel cot is also available on request.
GARDENS & PRIVATE WOODLAND
Treetops is surrounded by extensive landscaped gardens and it's own private woodland, with room for children and dogs (in particular!) to run around and explore.
It's also a lovely spot for wildlife. On a quiet morning it's not unusual to spot a deer in the woodland, or pheasants strutting about on the back lawn!
At night, impressive external lighting illuminates the trees and gardens, creating a completely different atmosphere after dark.
PARKING
There's free private on-site parking for up to six cars.
THE SURREY HILLS
Treetops is ideally placed for exploring the Surrey Hills and the surrounding countryside.
Don’t miss the postcard-perfect village of Shere, famous for its appearance in 'The Holiday' - it includes two welcoming pubs and sweet-shop 'Shere Delights', which our kids can't get enough of!
There's walking and cycling throughout the Surrey Hills, as well as plenty to discover further afield:
Albury Vineyard - wine tasting and tours
Silent Pool Distillers - tours and tastings
Albury Estate Fisheries - fishing
Excellent local golf courses
Wild Wood Adventure - great for families
RHS Garden Wisley - beautiful gardens and seasonal events
Guildford - shopping, restaurants, theatre and nightlife
After a day exploring, come back to Treetops, light the fire and enjoy the space, privacy and tranquillity of your own countryside retreat.
A NOTE ABOUT THE LOCATION
Treetops is genuinely in the countryside, around a 10-minute drive from the nearest village (Shere), or 40 minute walk to the pub - so access to a car is highly recommended. However, we are also bang-slap in the middle of the Surrey Hills, with foot paths + cycle paths literally on our doorstep.
A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY
Treetops has some history of its own. The land it sits on was once part of a holiday camp (run by our grandparents), and remnants of its past can still be found among the trees - including an old World War II bomb shelter and the remains of the former swimming pool.
They're fun little discoveries for anyone exploring the grounds, and a reminder that Treetops has been a place for people to escape to the countryside for generations.
