About this house rental
The perfect Group Getaway! Private. This sprawling foothill retreat is set on almost two acres of private homestead in Alpine (91901) outside of San Diego. This two-story, six-bedroom, three-bath house sits at the end of a long tree-lined driveway on a quiet cul-de-sac. You are surrounded by trees, with a wide western view from the front rocking chairs and real room to disappear. It feels like a country home with a quiet luxury pace — space to cook, work, swim, and let kids live outside.
Spacious. The house sleeps 13 in beds, plus a couple of couches that work well for extra kids. It is fully air-conditioned. Inside you will find a fully equipped kitchen, multiple refrigerators, a washer and dryer, indoor dining plus a kitchen table, a Smart TV, and a dedicated office space with a standing desk. High-speed Starlink Wi-Fi keeps work and streaming solid even tucked back off the road.
Efficient. The property runs on solar, with a battery for emergency power if the grid goes out. A 50-amp outlet is available for electric vehicles, and there is plenty of parking.
Outdoor Resort. Outside is the heart of the stay. A large patio with string lighting, putting green, an outdoor dining table, lounge chairs, a cabana, a hammock, ping pong, an outdoor boombox, and a patio television make it easy to spend the whole day in the yard. Rocking chairs out front face the western view. The pool (completely fenced) is heated most of the year by solar; propane heat can be added in fall and winter for an extra fee. A hot tub is also available for an extra fee.
Family Friendly. Kids get a miniature barn, a separate playhouse, and a play structure with swings and a slide, plus a putting green and a basketball hoop. Out front there is an herb garden for whoever is cooking and citrus trees with fruit almost year-round. Tucked outside is a small bunker wine cellar — an unexpected, intimate spot for dinner for two.
Convenient. You are close to everyday Alpine stops and the best local outings: Janet’s Montana Cafe for breakfast, McIlhenney Brewing on Alpine Boulevard, Barons and Albertsons for groceries, La Carreta and Mediterraneo at Alpine Creek, and La Michoacana for paletas. Wright’s Field is nearby for an easy sunset walk or Cleveland National Forest for longer hikes. Singing Hills Golf Club is a short drive for a full round. Viejas is the easy bigger night out — shop the outlet stores, book a treatment at Willows Spa, or stay for bowling, dining, Bingo and the casino. Sycuan Casino Resort is nearby as well. Lions, Tigers & Bears and Sky Falconry are reservation-ahead adventures. Julian and Lake Cuyamaca make a classic mountain day trip. The beach and downtown San Diego are about 35 minutes away. A private solar-powered homestead first - then Alpine, the backcountry, and the rest of San Diego's amenities nearby.
