Hike inland towards the ancient heritage of the Drumtroddan Standing Stones (5.5 miles) or visit the Iron Age hillfort, Barsalloch Fort (5.5 miles). Golfers will be keen to visit St Medan Golf Club (7 miles), and you’ll also find another popular course at Newton Stewart (18 miles), your largest local town. Head out late at night to discover the Galloway Astronomy Centre (9 miles) or make your way to Galloway Forest Park (21 miles), a designated Dark Sky Reserve.
