The Space:

Moasis is a modern, brutalist home on five acres in western Yucca Valley, where raw materials and clean lines meet warm, contemporary furnishings. Tall ceilings and large windows fill the open gathering spaces with light, and a custom sunken conversation pit sits at the heart of the home. Outside, a pool, a hot tub, an outdoor bar, bocce and hammocks spread across the property. With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, it suits families and small groups of up to six. Light sleepers, take the north-side king room; it has the softest light in the house.

-Outdoor Amenities-

Five acres of open desert give Moasis room for distinct outdoor areas. The pool has a shallow sun shelf and a front-row view of the sunset. Nearby, the outdoor bar and dining area are set up for drinks and long meals, and the bocce court is right alongside. As it cools off, gather around the fire pit or soak in the above-ground hot tub. For quieter moments, take a book from the home's collection out to a hammock, and stay out after dark for the stars. After dark, solar designer lighting traces the pathways.



-Living Area-

At the heart of the home is a custom sunken conversation pit with a circular layout that keeps the whole group together. Generous pillows and blankets make it easy to settle in, and a smart TV and speakers are ready for movie nights and music. For families with young children, the conversation pit has safety fencing. An oversized snake sculpture and desert-plant-inspired decor give the home a gallery-like edge.



-Kitchen and Dining-

The open kitchen is spacious and easy to work in, with a waterfall island where friends can gather while you cook. Cookware, pantry essentials, oils and a coffee setup are provided. The breakfast bar works for casual meals, and the outdoor dining area is there for dinners under the open sky.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

The primary suite, on the south side of the home, overlooks the backyard in emerald green, black and warm beige, with large windows, blackout curtains and a private ensuite bathroom. The king room, on the north side, has far-reaching desert views, clay tones and the softest natural light in the home, a good choice for light-sensitive sleepers. The queen room sits in the center of the home, with lamplight instead of overhead lighting and a large area rug. Both full bathrooms have walk-in showers and bold, modern tile.



-Surrounding Area-

Downtown Joshua Tree covers dinners and grocery runs, and the West Entrance to Joshua Tree National Park opens onto the park. Pioneertown, Pappy & Harriet's and the Red Dog Saloon make a good night out.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.



Please note that Moasis is in a remote location, and the final stretch to the home is on dirt roads, so please take it slow. The dirt roads are maintained, and a four-wheel drive car is not necessary, but please note that the dirt road conditions vary and may have bumps and ruts, particularly after rainstorms.
