About this house rental
Welcome to Big Dawg Lodge, a pet-friendly family mountain house made for making memories, tucked along the golf course at the top of Wintergreen. There's room for everyone, with every detail intentionally designed for connection, comfort and fun. Big Dawg Lodge features two firepits, a hot tub, sauna, game room and playful touches for kids and adults alike. All 5 BRs are on the first floor and have ensuite bathrooms. Come for the mountains. Big Dawg Lodge is located in the heart of beautiful Wintergreen in Virginia, which has tons to do for all ages, year-round. We are just a few minutes’ drive to the slopes and all the dining and entertainment at Wintergreen. Some of the best hiking trails in the state are off the Blue Ridge Parkway (15 minutes from the home), plus there are other great trails just down the street. Also nearby are two sandy-beach-entrance lakes plus a community pool for swimming, and over dozen wineries, breweries, and distilleries- all within a 30 minute drive.
The house has 5 bedrooms and 6 full bathrooms, with the layout as follows:
Main level:
- Light-drenched living room with wood-burning fireplace (wood provided) and big screen smart TV
- Dining area for 10-12
- Fully stocked kitchen
- BR1: Master bedroom with king bed and ensuite bathroom
- BR2: Master bedroom with king bed and ensuite bathroom
- BR3: Master bedroom with king bed and ensuite bathroom
- BR4: Master bedroom with two double beds and ensuite bathroom
- BR5: Bunk bedroom with a total of 4 twins and one double bed. Ensuite bathroom also opens to main living space
- Laundry room with full size washer and dryer, and extra refrigerator
Loft:
- Loft area overlooking living room with pull-out sectional sofa, smart TV, air hockey, foosball, and 4-player multicade with lots of arcade games
- Full bathroom
Outside:
- Rear deck features hot tub, barrel sauna, propane firepit area, outdoor dining for 10, additional dining table for 4, and gas grill (propane provided for firepit and grill). Great views of the fairway from the back deck!
- In front of the house is an additional propane firepit area with seating for 7.
Other things to note:
- Big Dawg Lodge is pet friendly, of course! We allow up to 4 pets with a $100 pet fee (total, not per pet or per night).
- Wintergreen offers hiking, skiing, snowboarding, tubing, swimming, dining, spa, ropes course, golfing, and much more.
- Motorcycles are not permitted at Wintergreen Resort
- The driveway can easily fit 4-5 vehicles. There is overflow parking available at Wintergreen if needed.
- Wifi is fast with a strong signal throughout the house and deck.
- The living room, loft, and 3 bedrooms have smart TVs where you can access whatever streaming services you subscribe to. We do not subscribe to cable.
- We provide a fully stocked coffee bar with multiple coffee drip and Keurig options
- Linens and towels provided
- Guests can enjoy free community pool access in the summer season (though the HOA rules stipulate no more than 6 guests at a time, and the permitted hours are 2-6pm).
- Pack n play, high chair, and kid dishes provided
- We do require a separate rental agreement, which we will send a link to e-sign after you book. There are no additional fees beyond those listed here.
