About this house rental
Inside, you'll find a blend of new and old. The owners have collected the furniture from the islands and antique dealers to create an authentic atmosphere. The wallpapers are replicas from old houses, and on the second floor, they've preserved the original log walls. The new kitchen and bathroom offer modern comforts within a historic setting. Please note that there's a staircase that may be a bit steep for small children.
The garden features several types of berry bushes that you're welcome to pick from during the season. Just a few metres from the cabin lies Ølahåjen, a small hill where you can sit and take in the entire horizon of the North Sea—with the weather and wind adding to the charm of the experience. From the pier below, you can fish for saithe, pollock, and cod.
The islands have a wealth of marked walking trails. The walk up Høgekletten (160 metres) offers views stretching from Florø in the north to Utvær in the south. Cycle across the bridges from Værlandet to Bulandet, where you’ll find a shop and a café in both places. The 560-metre-high island of Alden is nearby and offers spectacular views. Deer, otters and eagles are common sights among the rich wildlife, and across the islands you can spot a variety of beautiful bird species—soaring, gliding and dancing through the sky. You’ll need to take a ferry to the island, which takes about 1 hour.
