Less than 3 miles away, you’ll find Castle Douglas, a small, rural market town, foodie destination and home to the National Trust for Scotland's Threave Estate. Threave Estate offers an oasis of tranquillity, and in the summer months, the chance to see Ospreys. Explore Threave Castle, which is located on an island surrounded by the River Dee. Discover the scenic Sandy Hills Beach, 15 miles away, perfect for a day on the beach or enjoying cliff-top walks. Water sports are available on the Solway and at Loch Ken at the Galloway Activity Centre, 12 miles away. Children will love a day spent at Ernespie Farm or The Cocoa Bean Chocolate Factory, both within 6.5 miles.
