About this house rental
Welcome to Ivyhurst. Perfect for two families travelling together, a group of friends, or a couple who want the real Paddington rather than a hotel room in the city, Ivyhurst is a Victorian terrace that has been fully renovated from head to toe. The iron lace balcony, palisade fence and original street presence are all still there. Everything behind them is brand new.
The best thing about the house is the outlook. Most Paddington terraces look straight at the terrace across the road. This one looks out over treetops, which makes the whole home feel greener and quieter than you would expect a few minutes from Oxford Street. Facing north, it is sunny through Winter and comfortable in Summer, with ducted air conditioning and central heating throughout and blackout blinds in every room.
Herringbone timber floors run the length of the home. The living, dining and kitchen space opens onto a covered balcony with outdoor lounge and dining settings looking into the trees, which is where most guests end up in the evening. There is a Smart TV and a shelf of books and reading material, and a dedicated workspace in a room with a door, which makes this an easy house to work from for a few days.
Downstairs and out the back is a private, fully enclosed lawn edged with sandstone and planted garden beds, not overlooked by anyone. There is a gas BBQ with utensils and further outdoor seating.
Our bedding configuration is as follows:
Bedroom One: 1x Queen Bed
Bedroom Two: 1x Double Bed
Bedroom Three: 1x Double Bed
Living Room: 1x Queen Sofa Bed
Please note the sofa bed can only be set up as a Queen and will take up living room space while it is made up. Ivyhurst sleeps 8 across 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
The kitchen is set up to genuinely cook in, not just to look at. A Miele induction stove and Miele stainless steel oven, a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator and freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is a rice maker, a bread maker, a baking sheet, wine glasses, and dishes and cutlery for eight around the dining table. Wake up to coffee at the press of a button with the Nespresso machine, with coffee provided.
Both bathrooms are brand new, tiled floor to ceiling with floating vanities, and one has a full size bath alongside a separate shower. We provide Kevin Murphy shampoo and conditioner, body soap and shower gel, along with hotel quality linen and towels, extra pillows and blankets, hangers, an iron and full clothing storage in every room. There is a washing machine and dryer in the house, both free to use, plus a drying rack.
Travelling with little ones is easy here. We keep a travel cot and a folding highchair with straps and food tray at the house at all times, and the windows have grilles.
There is a free residential garage on the premises with room for one car, which is genuinely rare in Paddington. Street parking nearby is metered and limited, so we recommend one car where possible.
