Here, you’ll find heart, freedom, and a little chaos. The camper sits tucked in the woods, where mud on your boots and sand in your sheets are just part of the fun. Ride the trails, relax by the fire, meet farm animals, and maybe stumble into a spontaneous midnight adventure. Leave with stories worth telling.
Welcome to Lemon Balm, a cozy camper tucked into the woods at The Kut Away. Designed with couples, small families, and their four-legged companions in mind, it’s a place to slow down, reconnect, and trade the everyday routine for campfires, fresh air, and a little adventure.
Inside, you’ll find a comfortable and welcoming space with sleeping accommodations best suited for two adults and two children. The bunks are intended for children and are more delicate than traditional beds, so we ask that they be treated gently. Like any camper, the space is compact and has its own little quirks—but that’s part of camper living.
We’re family-friendly and fur-baby friendly! We know pets are part of the family, and we love welcoming them to The Kut Away. There’s plenty of nature to sniff, explore, and enjoy. Because we also have our own dogs, farm animals, and wildlife on the property, please keep your pet’s temperament and safety in mind while exploring.
Step outside and you have 140+ acres of Maine woodland waiting for you. Wander the trails, visit the farm animals, gather around a fire, explore with the kids, or simply sit back and listen to the woods. Dirt, sand, mud, bugs, leaves, and the occasional paw print are all part of life here.
The Kut Away is still growing and evolving, so you may occasionally see equipment or improvements happening around the property during daytime hours. We do our best to work around our guests and keep disruptions to a minimum.
We kindly ask that reservations reflect the actual number of people staying. Camper spaces are smaller and more delicate than traditional homes, and overcrowding can affect both your comfort and the camper itself. If you’re unsure whether Lemon Balm will work for your family or group, just message us—we’re always happy to help.
Lemon Balm is about simple comforts, muddy shoes, happy kids, wagging tails, campfire nights, and making the kind of memories you don’t get from an ordinary hotel stay.
If you feel like exploring beyond camp, Portland and its lighthouses are about 1 hour 18 minutes away, Bangor is roughly 1 hour 40 minutes, and Lewiston is about 40 minutes away. A gas station is approximately 5 minutes away, groceries are about 15 minutes away in Jay/Livermore Falls, and the nearest Walmart is approximately 30 minutes away in Farmington.
