About this apartment rental

Summary:

About a mile to the University of Oregon, this is near the heart of downtown. Located in a quiet alley way, the downstairs unit of a terracotta 4-plex behin a yellow vintage house with orange, yellow & green stripes on the door. A motion detector light turns on at night.

Very close to the bus stop, freeway entrance, restaurants, bars, shopping, and a mile to the UO, one can walk around and enjoy Eugene on foot.

One parking slot allotted for this unit directly in front of the door.

The Space:

Just 1.2 miles from the University of Oregon and very close to all downtown restaurants. It’s a 20 minute walk or a 6 minute car ride to the UO, and close to the Lane Events Center. Very convenient location to stay at for all events wherein parking may be a problem. It’s also a couple of blocks to the bus station.

Different, artsy, colored and eclectically decorated and space that is fun, rejuvenating and stimulating as well as, calm you when you sleep. The inspiration decor for this is a large elephant painting that was torn and given to Marvy, who repaired it. That gave her the idea to incorporate all her other past wildlife photos taken during her residency in Sri Lanka, as well as, other animal objects she has at home. Note the dominant animal theme of the apartment, hopefully, meant to make you smile.

All photos are originals, mostly submitted for competitions at the Photographic Society of Sri Lanka in 2003-04. Some of the furniture are repurposed from the community, individual and organizations, except for the brand new bed with an organic memory foam mattress and the sofa sleeper, which is firmer than most regular beds.

This is the downstairs unit of a 4plex. There are tenants upstairs and next door but are very respectful and quiet. We can provide earplugs if you are a light sleeper or if you don’t have your own.

The property is located in a neighborhood that has both long-term residents and some areas that are still improving. While many of our guests have enjoyed their stay and felt comfortable, we want to be transparent so you can make the best decision for your trip. The home itself is clean, well-kept, and equipped with everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay.

Guest Access:

Guests access the apartment with a digitally keyed entry. The combination will be given a few days before guests arrive. The whole apartment is available for use.

Please make sure you check in at 3 pm or after because we sometimes have guests who depart on the same day of your arrival.

The Neighborhood:

The bus stop is a block away, and the bus station about 10 minutes walk. It's exactly 1 mile to the gates of the University of Oregon. There are many fun and delicious restaurants nearby, close to shopping, the freeway entrance, urgent care, business centers, and many more. It's a fun neighborhood and oftentimes, you can hear the ducks that live across the unit quacking.

We own the complex as well as the 108 year old yellow house beside this unit and therefore know all our tenants.

A Guest Manual is provided as well as fliers for wineries and activities you can do during your stay.

Getting Around:

There are bus stops close by and the bus station is about 10 minutes away. The unit has parking right in front.

Taxi, Lyft or Uber are easily accessible for getting around.

Other Things to Note:

Even before the time of Covid-19, we use hospital grade sanitation and cleaning supplies for the protection of our service people and guests. We also block days between guests.

WIFI available throughout the apartment and the passwords are in the guest manual.

We have a TV to stream your fave channels (you need your own subscription for this).

If you are 2 people who sleep separately and will require an extra set of sheets and blanket and pillow for the sofa bed, we do have an extra $25 laundry charge for linen.

This is a NON-smoking unit, but smoking is allowed outside the premises. Pot is now legal in our state, but may not be smoked inside the house. We love our environment and hope that you will support our recycling efforts if possible, as well as, minimize carbon footprint with the utilities.

The unit has a broom, dustpan, paper towels, garbage bags and cleaning spray in case you spill something. Cleaning between guests are done by professionals who are paid living wages. Our cleaning and laundry products are natural and environmentally safe. Your cleaning fee goes directly to them. In the event that the unit is needing further cleaning because it was left dirty or unkempt, or there are stains we need to further treat, we charge you the extra charge for their extra time.

Please do not rearrange furniture.

Our dining table is not for crafting projects. It’s main purpose is for eating. Please use hot pads/trivet/towel when setting hot plates on the table.

Please do not use wet or muddy shoes inside the house or step on carpets when your shoes are dirty.

Please note that makeup oftentimes doesn’t come out of towels or hair dye for that matter. We do provide black washcloths for makeup removal. Please do not use towels as rugs. If a towel or bed linen has questionable looking stains, we trash them as we do not want to compromise our service people nor used stained linen for our next guests, as oftentimes, bleach or cleaning enzymes will not remove grime.

Should you forget items, we can ship them to you with a minimum charge of $25 handling for our service person plus cost of postage.

LONG TERM GUESTS: We do linen washing and change outs only after your stay at the unit. You are responsible for in between washings. There are many laundromats close by that we can help you locate if needed. If you wish to have your unit lightly cleaned in between your stay with linen change, we charge $75 for that. This is subject to acceptance by our service persons as during high covid alert, they may decline cleaning units with people in them.

Interaction with Guests:

My husband and I travel a lot, so we might not always be able to meet you, but I do my best when around. However, I am very responsive by text should you need anything. I also have my service people around in case of any problems.
