STAIRS & ACCESSIBILITY
This is a large, multi-level home with several staircases.
Inside, there are stairs leading to areas including:

• Loon’s Nest
• Basement game rooms
• Garage
There are also several sets of stairs around the exterior of the home and leading between outdoor areas.
Guests with mobility limitations should consider this before booking. A ramp will be added in the future.
WINDOWS, BUGS & NORTHERN MICHIGAN
Because the home is surrounded by trees on Avery Lake, insects are a natural part of Northern Michigan.
The home is professionally treated for pests throughout the year, but we ask that guests keep the windows and doors closed during their stay. Leaving windows and doors open can quickly allow mosquitoes, flies and other insects into the home.
Please use the home’s heating and cooling system rather than opening windows.
LOON’S NEST EMERGENCY EXIT
The upstairs Loon’s Nest has a designated emergency exit window. An emergency escape ladder is stored in the clearly labeled container directly in front of it for emergency use only.
Please do not move or use the emergency ladder except in an emergency.
SEASONAL OUTDOOR AMENITIES
The beach furniture, boats, paddle boards, kayak, canoe, paddle boat, sand toys and many of the outdoor recreational amenities are seasonal.
Availability depends on the time of year, weather and lake conditions.
SWIMMING & WATER SAFETY
There is no lifeguard on duty.
Swimming, boating and use of the lake, beach and water equipment are at guest risk.
Children should be closely supervised at all times around the lake, beach and watercraft.
Watercraft users must follow Michigan boating laws, life-jacket requirements and all posted Avery Lake rules.

Avery Lake has restrictions on high-speed boating and towing activities.
During daylight saving time, high-speed boating and towing are not permitted between 7:30 PM and 11:00 AM.
During standard time, high-speed boating and towing are not permitted between 6:30 PM and 10:00 AM.
