Le Petit Refuge du Jaunpass

This is an absolutely beautiful campsite with breathtaking views of the Swiss Alps! We witnessed some of the prettiest sunrises and sunsets here, and the peaceful surroundings made it a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy nature. Despite its remote location, the facilities were excellent. The bathrooms and showers were extremely clean and well-maintained, with heating and warm water. The campervan was thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed, including dishes, warm blankets, and cleaning supplies. The kitchen also had induction stoves, a kettle, a sandwich maker, a fridge, and a microwave, making our stay very comfortable. The location is also great for exploring the surrounding area, with beautiful mountain scenery, access to Boltigen, and a ski resort nearby. Most importantly, the host was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and accommodating. He consistently went out of his way to help us and make sure we were comfortable, which made our experience even more special. Overall, it was a wonderful place to spend a few days in the Swiss Alps, and I would absolutely recommend it!

The only issue we encountered was that the lights in the kitchen worked, but those in the living room and bedroom areas did not, making the campervan quite dark after sunset. We managed with flashlights, but it would have been more comfortable if the lighting had been working. One thing worth noting is the Wi-Fi and public transport if you're visiting without a car. The Wi-Fi only worked at the reception, which was about a two-minute walk from the campervan. If you plan to work from inside the campervan, you'll need a Swiss SIM card with 5G, but the mobile data connection was very stable, so working remotely was still perfectly manageable. The bus from Boltigen train station takes around 20 minutes and drops you right in front of the campsite, near the Jaunpass restaurant. However, it only runs four times a day, which we hadn't realised beforehand. Uber and Bolt are not available in the area, and local taxis can be expensive, so we had to plan our outings around catching the last bus at 4:13 pm. This was a little inconvenient, although it certainly didn't take away from our overall experience. I'd highly recommend staying here, especially if you're travelling by car, as it makes exploring the area much easier!
