Some Lake Arrowhead cabins are built to impress. Green Gables Cottage was built to be lived in. The house dates back to around 1930, and it carries its age well, with cozy rooms, an easy lake house feel, and a layout small enough that nobody ends up in a corner of the house by themselves. The living room is where that lake house character really comes through. Warm wood planks run across the ceiling, a stone fireplace takes up one wall with a TV mounted above it, and a long row of windows fills the room with daylight and green from the trees outside. Sink into the sofa for a movie night, or claim the cushioned window seat with a book and your morning coffee. The dining area sits right alongside, with a wooden table and ladder-back chairs under a pendant light, so dinner and conversation flow easily into the evening. The kitchen is a few steps away, with light wood cabinetry, a full-size fridge and range, and a little coffee corner with mugs hanging on hooks, ready for slow mornings and big pancake breakfasts before a day in the village. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms make it a comfortable fit for a family or a few friends sharing a weekend. One bedroom has a full bed and its own ensuite shower, which tends to go to whoever arrives first. The second bedroom has a queen bed. The third is the flexible room, with a twin and trundle. Past bedroom three, one more full bed sits in its own little space. Since you reach it through bedroom three, it's a natural fit for kids or anyone who doesn't mind sharing the walk-through. The second full bathroom has a shower and tub combo, which comes in handy after a muddy day on the trails or an afternoon in the snow. The real luxury here is how little driving you'll do. Lake Arrowhead Village is just down the road, with lakeside shops, casual places to eat, ducks to feed along the shoreline, and boat tours out on the water. Mornings can start with coffee and a walk to the village, and evenings can end there too. A few minutes up the highway, SkyPark at Santa's Village keeps kids busy with zip lines, mountain biking, and seasonal activities, and the Heaps Peak Arboretum loop is an easy, shaded walk under towering pines and sequoias. Lake Gregory in nearby Crestline has a public swim beach plus kayak and paddleboard rentals in summer. When the snow comes, Snow Valley is a short drive for skiing and tubing, and Big Bear is within easy reach for a day trip. At about two hours from Los Angeles, it's close enough for a Friday night getaway and far enough to feel like you've really left. Guests cannot exceed the permitted occupancy at any time. - Use of outdoor activities is prohibited from 10 pm - 7 am. - No amplified sound is permitted outside at any time. Indoor sound cannot be loud enough to be audible at the property line. - Winter weather warning- From November through March, all vehicles are required to carry chains in their vehicle. - 4 wheel drive vehicles are recommended in the winter months. Chains may be required to access the home. - AvantStay plows and clears the driveway and one pathway to the front door. We provide shovels for guests to use should they wish to clear paths on any other part of the property. Parking Details: - 2 parking spots available. – This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs. As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation. Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.
