Animal Fact! 🐾

Our house was mostly abandoned for a long time, which made it a perfect home for the many kitties living downtown. If you notice them walking around or jumping on the roof, even during late hours, don't be alarmed—they simply love our house as much as we do! They're part of what makes this place special.

A gentle note: If you have severe cat allergies or prefer a completely pet-free environment, please keep this in mind when booking. We want your stay to be comfortable and wonderful!

We wish you a pleasant stay in Casa Rosalba and in Asunción.

Guest Access:

• Home Conveniences: Full, exclusive access to the entire private house footprint, including the open-air central courtyard and independent laundry facilities.

• Arrival & Autonomy: Hassle-free check-in managed via a secure smart lock code system, allowing your group to arrive late and check in with total independence.

• Immediate ground-level entry directly from the street walkway into the private inner courtyard entryway.

The Neighborhood:

• Plaza de la Democracia (7-minute walk): A historic central square that hosts regular local artisanal markets, live public music events, and seasonal community gatherings.

• National Pantheon of the Heroes (8-minute walk): An iconic national landmark, cultural museum, and architecturally significant mausoleum in the center of old town.

• Casa de la Independencia Museum (9-minute walk): A prominent historical site showcasing colonial architecture and original artifacts from Paraguay's independence era.

• Costanera de Asunción (12-minute walk): A wide, paved waterfront boulevard that is popular for sunset views, running loops, and seasonal food stalls.

• Palacio de los López (13-minute walk): The neoclassical presidential office complex along the bay, which features impressive structural illumination after dark.

• Manzana de la Rivera (14-minute walk): A vibrant cultural center comprising a collection of multi-colored historic homes, a library, and art galleries.

• Plaza Uruguaya (10-minute walk): A peaceful, shade-covered downtown public park known for its book stalls, massive native trees, and historical statues.

• Cathedral of Asunción (11-minute walk): The city's main historical church edifice, featuring a beautifully designed altar and overlooking old-town neighborhoods.

• Lido Bar & Traditional Dining (7-minute walk): An iconic culinary institution serving up classic Paraguayan fish soup, traditional empanadas, and local dishes.

• Silvio Pettirossi International Airport (25-minute drive): Clear access via major transit streets makes catching morning flights or managing international group pick-ups straightforward.

Getting Around:

Getting around: Asunción has no metro, so ride-hailing apps (Uber, Bolt and inDriver all operate here) and taxis are the easiest way to move around the city, and both are widely available. City buses run along the main avenues nearby.

On foot: this is one of the most walkable parts of Asunción. Plaza de la Democracia is about a 7-minute walk, the National Pantheon of the Heroes about 8, and the Casa de la Independencia Museum about 9, so the historic centre is best explored on foot.

By car: the newer commercial districts and the airport are a straightforward drive from the old town.
