Quiet residential enclave within Estate Bakkeroe / Frenchman’s Cove on Southside, close to Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove and other resorts. Short drive to Havensight/Cruise Ship Dock and Charlotte Amalie for shopping, dining and historic sites. Hilly terrain, scenic overlooks, limited sidewalks; mixed vacation homes and permanent residences.
Getting around
Car is preferred — narrow, winding roads and limited public transit coverage make rented cars or arranged private transfers most convenient. Metered/shared taxis operate island-wide with set taxi rates (airport and harbor surcharges common). VITRAN buses operate main routes but service is infrequent for Southside/estate neighborhoods. Water taxis/ferries run from Charlotte Amalie and Red Hook for inter-island trips. Expect small parking areas at attractions; 4WD vehicles or SUVs are helpful but not required.
