Tucked among the trees approximately five minutes from Lake Michigan and 1st Street Beach, this intimate one-bedroom retreat is perfectly suited for a romantic escape, a quiet solo getaway, or a relaxed vacation for a small family. Spend sun-filled days along the shoreline, explore the shops and restaurants of downtown South Haven, and return to a private backyard created for slow afternoons and memorable evenings together.

Living Spaces
Clean lines, warm details, and an abundance of natural charm give La Carlota its welcoming Scandinavian character. The living area offers a comfortable place to recharge after a day at the beach, complete with an electric fireplace and television for relaxed evenings at home. High-speed Wi-Fi, an Ethernet connection, and a dedicated workspace make it easy to remain connected when needed. Central heating and air conditioning provide year-round comfort, whether you are visiting during the height of summer or planning a quieter escape along the Lake Michigan shoreline.

Cooking & Dining
The well-appointed kitchenette offers everything needed for simple meals, leisurely breakfasts, and evenings spent at home. Guests will have access to a stovetop, oven, microwave, small refrigerator, Instant Pot, toaster, cookware, dinnerware, basic cooking essentials, and a dining table. A Nespresso coffee maker makes mornings feel a little more indulgent, while the Big Green Egg charcoal grill provides the perfect opportunity to prepare dinner outdoors and enjoy the privacy of the backyard.

Bed & Bath
La Carlota accommodates up to three guests with one bedroom, two beds, and one full bathroom. The cozy queen bedroom offers a calm and comfortable place to rest, surrounded by the cottage's quiet wooded setting. An additional bed provides flexibility for a third guest or small family. The spacious bathroom is beautifully finished and stocked with essential toiletries, fresh towels, and bed linens to make settling in simple from the moment you arrive.

Outdoor Spaces
The private backyard is one of La Carlota's most memorable features, offering several ways to enjoy Michigan's warmer days and cool lakeside evenings. Settle beneath the pergola on the outdoor sectional, share a friendly game of bocce, or relax in the three-person hammock beneath the trees. Prepare dinner on the Big Green Egg charcoal grill, then gather around the fire pit as evening settles over the property. With comfortable outdoor furnishings, natural shade, and space to reconnect, the backyard feels like a private extension of the cottage. La Carlota accommodates a maximum of three guests. The private backyard is not fully fenced. The Big Green Egg is a charcoal grill. Guests should plan to provide charcoal if it is not available at the property. A washing machine and dryer are not available.
