About this house rental

At the gateway to the Morvan Natural Park, at the southern tip of the massif & border of the Nièvre! Authentic late 19th century building, restored and steeped in history (formerly a café which once housed the only "telephone booth" in the area, still present in the gîte!) - adorned with an unusual intimate enclosed garden featuring a beautiful 5x2.5m above-ground pool - nestled in the heart of a peaceful mini rural village renowned for the quality of its "starry sky", 6 km from the charming typical market town of Luzy ("village of the future" offering many amenities including supermarkets, a swimming pool and many other leisure facilities). Calm and tranquility in the heart of the gentle, preserved Morvan countryside (protected as a ZNIEFF), a soothing hilly setting combining agriculture and nature, between bucolic hedgerows dotted with rivers and ponds and beautiful wild forests, next to a vast protected area in "Natura 2000 Zone" (for its rich ecosystems) and the green Arroux valley (and its nearby fish-filled river to discover during relaxing canoe or kayak trips), not far from the Uchon massif and its renowned summit of "Signal d'Uchon" ("the Pearl of the Morvan", a classified natural site). Ideally located on several marked "green trails" (a vast network of similar hiking paths crisscrossing the area, suitable for walking or mountain biking), not far from the Romanesque churches circuit, 2 km from the GR13 long-distance hiking trail connected to the renowned GRP "Grand Tour du Massif du Morvan", 10 km from the "Cycloroute71" (Tour de Saône-et-Loire by bike), 14 km from the legendary GMTC mountain bike route (Grande Traversée du Massif Central connected to the "du Morvan aux Vignobles" Green Way), 34 km from the Canal du Centre Green Way (a route also perfect for relaxing boat trips) alongside the EuroVelo 6 cycle route and the "Tour de Bourgogne à Vélo", approximately 60 km from the first vineyards of the Couchois & Côtes Chalonnaises and 70 km from the Mâconnais region and the world-renowned vineyards of the Côtes de Beaune. & Hautes Côtes de Beaune ("Route des Grands Vins" extended by the illustrious "Route des Grands Crus" to explore). In the heart of the sublime preserved territory of the Autunois-Morvan, steeped in traditions, legends & mysteries, rich in grandiose landscapes as well as an exceptional historical heritage (ancient, medieval, industrial...), at the crossroads of the Chalonnais, the Charollais-Brionnais labeled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire" (land of livestock farming, cradle of the AOC of the world-renowned cattle breed), not far from the Mâconnais and the Clunisois-Tournugeois. Ideal for exploring the region: 15 km from Diverti'Parc (a unique family-oriented nature park in Burgundy), 17 km from the renowned Paldenshangpa Buddhist temple, 27 km from the famous Gallo-Roman archaeological site of Bibracte, a designated "Grand Site de France", 32 km from the spa and medieval town of Bourbon-Lancy, 39 km from Digoin (a river marina nestled at the confluence of three canals, including the "tranquil canal" connecting Digoin to Roanne), 40 km from Autun (a designated "City of Art & History" with over 2,000 years of human presence!), 45 km from Château-Chinon, 45 km from Le Creusot (home to the renowned Combes amusement park / Le Creusot TGV train station 47 km away), 47 km from Paray-le-Monial, and 47 km from the medieval village of Mont-Saint-Vincent (a unique 360° panoramic viewpoint in Burgundy) is 49 km from Charolles. A refreshing retreat for a relaxing green getaway, ideal for families with children! Belgian by birth and perfectly multilingual, a Burgundian at heart and by adoption, Ria welcomes you to an authentic village house dating from the late 19th century, renovated into a charming holiday retreat. This unique building is steeped in local history (formerly the village café, it once housed the very first telephone in the area, and the imposing "circuit board switchboard," typical of hotels of the era, still stands proudly in the living room!). Peace and quiet abound, nestled in a cul-de-sac on the edge of a small square opposite the church, in the heart of a peaceful, tiny rural village of "just a few souls," renowned for its exceptional starry skies, in a delightful, rolling landscape of hills covered in idyllic wooded meadows. A complete escape to the heart of the gentle, perfectly preserved Morvan countryside (protected as a ZNIEFF area for its rich fauna and flora), nestled on the edge of a vast Natura 2000 protected area (for its rich ecosystems), a soothing rural and natural setting combining agriculture and the great outdoors amidst verdant hedgerows dotted with rivers and ponds, cultivated fields, and deep wild forests.
