We recently stayed in the Olive Room at this peaceful property close to town. Ivan, the owner gave us a warm welcome and was very helpful. Outside each room there is a small table and chairs to relax in under the shady verandah. From the verandah there is a view of the Olive Grove, farms, York and Mount Brown in the distance. Our room was a spacious studio with a divider that seperated the lounge and dining area from the bedroom area. We had a comfortable queen size bed and there was also a king single. The ensuite was roomy with a spa bath. The kitchenette had a sink, fridge, microwave, toaster ,kettle and crockery. But best of all an easy to use coffee pod machine. I was impressed that there were even decaf pods which I only drink. The rate included a continental breakfast and the choice of food was plentiful from cereals, yoghurt, a selection of fruit, bread and assorted condiments. We would recommend The Olive Branch for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

No problems at all

I was up in York for the Twang festival and accomodation was certainly at a premium but when I found a vacancy at The Olive Branch I was exceedingly grateful I would not be sleeping in my car. The beautiful property is well maintained. Property is only a 15-20 min easy walk into York, should you should to want a few bevvies. Love the electric blankets, particularly as I’m someone who is perpetually cold when staying away from home. Bed very comfortable and little chalet well laid out. The freshly squeezed OJ is just delightful. The proprietor? Ivan, was incredibly accommodating plus a great conversationalist. I would highly recommend staying here for such beautiful small town country cha and manner. Ivan, thank you again for having me and making my weekend so relaxed and enjoyable.
