About this house rental
Minutes from Lake Taghkanic and Doves Diner, plus Hudson, Millerton, and Germantown, with plenty of restaurants and breweries in between.
About the home:
Tucked along a quiet, tree-lined road, this home sits on 4 private acres — with unbroken, wooded views out back, just the porch, the fire pit, and the yard beyond.
The wraparound porch is where mornings start and evenings end — coffee at sunrise, drinks as the light fades over the trees. Down the steps, the fire pit and grill make for easy nights outside, and the sunroom, tucked between the kitchen and the yard, is the spot for long dinners once the bugs come out.
Inside, the living room is built for gathering: an oversized sectional, a wood-burning fireplace, and a projector for movie nights when the weather turns. The kitchen is fully stocked for real cooking, and there's a washer/dryer for longer stays.
Upstairs, a cozy loft bedroom rounds out the sleeping arrangements alongside a second bedroom and a primary suite with its own ensuite bath — plenty of room to spread out without feeling on top of each other.
Once you're ready to explore, Lake Taghkanic State Park (swimming, hiking, kayaking) is minutes away, along with the newly renovated Doves Diner that's become a local favorite. The dining and entertainment attractions of Hudson, Millerton, and Germantown are each about 15 minutes out, with farm stands and breweries along the way, and Copake Lake is a half-hour drive.
