This homely cottage, just outside the tranquil village of Thursby, is ideal for couples or solo travellers seeking a relaxing rural retreat and a convenient base for accessing local amenities and exploring the Cumbrian coast. Thursby is perfectly placed just 7 miles from the border city of Carlisle, under 20 miles from Scotland, and 6 miles from the Lake District. There are lots of bicycle routes and walks available from your doorstep, and plenty to do in the local area, including a visit to Watchtree Nature Reserve (2.5 miles) for wildlife enthusiasts. Explore the history and culture of Carlisle; experience the Castle and Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery before indulging at one of the many eateries. Head north of the border on a train to Edinburgh and Glasgow from Carlisle station. The Solway Aviation Museum and the magnificent Talkin Tarn Country Park are two must-visit attractions within 20 miles.
