Late in the afternoon the sun swings round to the southwest balcony, the rooftops below turn gold, and the Atlantic sits behind them. Two sun loungers are set out here, and this is where most guests end up.

The apartment occupies the top floor of Edifício Vista das Ondas, a corner unit with balconies on two sides. Just inside the front door, on the left, is a bathroom with a walk-in shower. Next to it, the main bedroom has a 140 cm double bed and its own bathroom with a bath, plus the door out to that southwest balcony.

The second bedroom, with two single beds, sits alongside and opens onto the second balcony, this one facing south with a table and four chairs. Extra pillows, duvets and towels are kept in the wardrobe.

At the other end of the apartment, the open kitchen and living room share that same south-facing balcony, with the sea visible over the rooftops. Every room has its own air conditioning unit, and the units run in reverse for warmth on cooler evenings. The kitchen is fully equipped: oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker and wine glasses.

Downstairs, the condominium gardens hold a kidney-shaped shared pool, unheated and chlorinated, with sunbeds around it, a small children's pool alongside, and a playground.

➤ Please note: the condominium is currently undergoing external maintenance work (cleaning and repainting of the building facade), expected to continue until March 2027. Noise levels vary depending on the current building phase, and work typically takes place during standard daytime hours on weekdays.

##Neighborhood

Olhos d'Água is a small fishing village on the coast between Albufeira and Vilamoura that has kept its working seafront, with boats pulled up on the sand and seafood restaurants along the promenade. It takes its name, "eyes of water", from the freshwater springs that rise through the beach at low tide. Quieter than Albufeira, with the same beaches within reach.

The apartment sits in Torre da Medronheira, the area named after the old watchtower that once guarded this stretch of coast. The Intermarché supermarket is a few minutes' walk. The beach and the village centre are about a kilometre downhill, fifteen minutes on foot or two by car, and the seafront restaurants are the reason most people make the walk in the evening. Praia da Falésia, with its orange cliffs, begins just east of the village.

##Transit

A car is useful here. Faro Airport is around 35 km, roughly 30 to 35 minutes by road. Albufeira old town is about 10 minutes' drive and Vilamoura marina around 15. Buses connect Olhos d'Água with Albufeira and Faro, but they run infrequently, so most guests find a hire car more practical.
