About this house rental

Sharvels Oast House is your own all-seasons, all-weather, completely private and luxuriously furnished countryside retreat. Set within five acres of landscaped gardens and paddocks, with a small lake, central island and woodland stream, it is wonderfully secluded yet only minutes from every amenity. Combining the unique character of a traditional twin-tower Oast House with every modern comfort, it enjoys magnificent views towards the River Rother and features an indoor swimming pool, resurfaced tennis court, huge hearth fireplace, fully equipped games room, several private patios, covered barbecue area, and direct access via public footpath to ancient woodland where deer and abundant wildlife still roam.

Specifically designed for complete privacy and year-round enjoyment, Sharvels Oast House is the perfect destination in every season. Beautifully restored for comfort and your enjoyment, it accommodates 10 guests in five bedrooms, with space for two more if required in an alcove of the games room. The spacious games room is equipped with a pool table and various other games. It is ideal for family holidays, celebrations, business groups and gatherings of friends.

Inside you'll find a spacious lounge, including piano and fitted with Chesterfield sofas, arranged around a large hearth-styled fireplace, overlooking the indoor pool. As well as a fully equipped kitchen, and a distinctive circular dining room centred around a large King Arthur-style dining table overhung by a chandelier. The indoor pool can be heated on request, while the gardens offer numerous seating areas with lovely countryside views. Quiet and tranquillity are assured, with frequent sightings of deer in the surrounding fields and woodlands, and abundant birdlife around the lake and in the gardens.

Remarkably, all this is within a few minutes' walk of Jempsons superstore and restaurant, a filling station, a countryside spa hotel with restaurant, ladies' bar and spa facilities, a traditional village pub, and regular bus services to Rye and its railway station.

Just five miles away lies the historic Cinque Port of Rye, renowned for its cobbled streets, independent shops and excellent restaurants. Nearby are the vast sandy beaches of Camber Sands, several historic castles, nature reserves, woodland walks, Battle Abbey, Herstmonceux, and the South Downs National Park, including Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters.

Wi-Fi is supplied throughout the house, the lounge has a 65-inch TV with Freely, which is also connected to the WiFi, luxury linnens are supplied throughout, and all crockery, cutlery and glassware are provided.
