The kitchen opens completely to the forest through large glass panels. In winter, snow falls on the other side of the glass while the interior stays warm with central gas heating. A wood-burning stove adds to the atmosphere.

The house is built directly over the Cautín river — you can hear it constantly from inside. In summer the river is there for swimming, though the water is cold. In winter the property is surrounded by snow.
Corralco ski resort 8.3 km away. The village of Malalcahuello 3 km for essentials. The last 300 meters of access are unpaved — we recommend a vehicle with clearance or four-wheel drive in winter.

Guests have the house and grounds exclusively to themselves. A pedestrian right-of-way runs along one side of the property toward the river — occasionally people may pass through on their way to the water.
Free parking for up to 4 vehicles.
We ask guests to respect the surrounding nature reserve: no fires outside designated areas, no interference with the native forest or its wildlife.

A housekeeper comes daily to clean the property — they're your direct point of contact on-site if you need anything.
We typically respond to messages within the same day. For any urgent matters, we coordinate local assistance.

Casa Río is a remote property. The road is fully paved up to the entrance — the last 300 meters are gravel, accessible with any vehicle under normal conditions. With snow or heavy mud, we recommend a vehicle with clearance. We suggest arriving before dark, especially in winter.
The house is designed for self-sufficient stays. You'll find a complete House Manual covering everything: kitchen, wood-burning stove, hot tub, heating system, check-out steps, nearby activities, restaurants and emergency contacts.
The outdoor wood-fired hot tub is available for independent use — full instructions in the House Manual.
Mobile signal is limited in the area — Entel has the best coverage. The house has Starlink satellite internet with strong, stable WiFi throughout the property.
