The Space:

Sleeps 6 across two king bedrooms and a queen sofa bed, with two full bathrooms — one a private ensuite. Ski in, ski out at the base of Crested Butte Mountain Resort, second floor of the West Building at the Grand Lodge. Nearly every other home in this building is a studio, so this is the rare layout for a family or two couples travelling together.

➔ King Bedroom 1

Opens onto the living room, so the group stays together. Room-darkening shades and a ceiling fan.

➔ King Bedroom 2

The larger of the two, with its own ensuite full bathroom, a long built-in counter that works as a desk, and a sitting corner of its own. A door that closes on all of it.

➔ Living Room

Queen sofa bed, fireplace, TV with cable, and seating for six. Windows look out onto the timber frames and stone of the lodge.

➔ Kitchenette

One-burner stove, microwave, dishwasher, mini fridge, sink, coffee maker, cookware, dishes and silverware, with bar seating alongside. Set up for coffee, breakfast and snacks — not for cooking a holiday dinner.

➔ Bathrooms

Two full bathrooms, tub and shower, long vanities. One is the ensuite off King Bedroom 2.

➔ Pets

Two dogs welcome.

➔ In the Building

Indoor/outdoor heated pool, hot tub, steam room, fitness center, elevator, EV charging, coin-operated laundry, and one free outdoor parking pass per unit.

3 Pros:

✔ Two king bedrooms and two full baths in a building that is otherwise nearly all studios

✔ Ski in, ski out, with the base area, coffee and dinner a five minute walk away — park once and leave the car

✔ Heated pool, hot tub and steam room in the building, and a free parking pass on top

2 Cons:

✗ It is a kitchenette, not a kitchen — one burner, a microwave and a mini fridge. Breakfast in, dinner out

✗ The window view is obstructed and there is no air conditioning — at 9,375 ft the nights do the cooling

Guest Access:

Self check-in with a keypad door code we send before arrival. The condo is on the second floor of the West Building, and there is an elevator. We send a photo arrival guide a few days out so you find the right building and the right door the first time, in the dark, with your hands full.

Your stay includes one free outdoor parking pass per unit and full access to the Grand Lodge pool, hot tub, steam room, fitness center, and ski and bike storage.

We do not live on site and the Grand Lodge no longer has a front desk, but our office is a few buildings away and we answer messages quickly.

The Neighborhood:

The Grand Lodge is at the base of Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Mt. Crested Butte, Colorado, elevation 9,375 ft. Ski in, ski out; the resort base is a 5 minute walk (0.5 km).

Walking distances from the door: Coffee Lab 10 minutes, A Bar Above 10 minutes, José 12 minutes, the Magic Carpet beginner lift 13 minutes. Crested Butte Nordic Center is a 2 minute drive.

Historic downtown Crested Butte is 2 miles north on Gothic Road, reached by the free year-round Mountain Express shuttle, with galleries, Victorian storefronts and the valley's best-known restaurants.

Summer and fall at the base: hiking, mountain biking, wildflowers, rafting and golf.

Getting Around:

Most guests fly into Gunnison–Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC). It is 28 miles and about a 30 minute drive up Highway 135 to the town of Crested Butte, then 4 more miles up Gothic Road to Mt. Crested Butte. Denver is the other common route, roughly four and a half hours by road.

Once you are here you can leave the car parked. Your stay includes one free outdoor parking pass per unit, the lot has EV charging, and the free year-round Mountain Express shuttle runs between Mt. Crested Butte and the town of Crested Butte.

One warning worth reading: the Town of Mt. Crested Butte enforces its lots strictly. Park only in your assigned Grand Lodge space, and on check-out day move your car before the posted time if you plan to stay and ski. Guests have been ticketed for leaving cars in the lot after checkout.

Other Things to Note:

• Colorado STR License #319094

• Pet-friendly: 2 dogs maximum, $50 flat pet fee.

• Building amenities — pool, hot tub, steam room, fitness center — are operated by a separate management company and can close without notice. Those closures are outside our control.

• No air conditioning. The building has heat, and at 9,375 ft the nights stay cool and rarely call for it.

• No daily housekeeping — this is a vacation rental, not a hotel. A mid-stay linen turnover is available on request for an added fee with 24 hours' notice.

• Laundry is the building's coin-operated laundry, not in the unit.

• We use a guidebook hosted outside the platform. You will receive an email with the link, and it is the only way to access check-in information; it also handles pet fees and any special requests or upgraded services.

Interaction with Guests:

The Grand Lodge no longer has a front desk. Our office is a few buildings away and we are easy to reach — message us any time through the platform, before arrival or during your stay, and we will answer quickly.

If anything is not up to standard while you are here — cleanliness, an amenity, anything at all — tell us and let us fix it. We would much rather hear about it while you are in the building than read about it afterwards.
