About this house rental
Set just a few minutes from the port, The Blue Door is a distinctive four-level neoclassical townhouse in the heart of the old town, opposite Agios Michail Church and just behind the historic Vakratsas Mansion. Its architecture is part of the character of old Skopelos, making the house feel very much of the place rather than simply located in it.
The 85 m² house combines traditional Skopelos character with the comfort and practicality of a contemporary holiday home. Warm iroko wood floors, a wooden spiral staircase and a soft, understated interior complement the house’s character. It has been thoughtfully renovated to offer the comforts you expect while retaining the feeling of a genuine Skopelos home.
The house is spread over four levels. The ground floor has two comfortable living areas, ideal for relaxing after a day at the beach or gathering together in the evening. The first floor has a double bedroom, bathroom and walk-in closet. The cosy attic has two single beds, wardrobe space and a small vanity area, making it a particularly appealing space for children or friends travelling together. The semi-basement has a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, together with a second bathroom and washing machine.
With two bathrooms and three individually controlled air-conditioning units, The Blue Door works particularly well for couples, families or small groups of up to four guests. The bedrooms and living spaces are arranged across different floors, giving everyone a little more space and privacy during their stay.
One of the things we love most about the house is its location. You can walk down to the port in just a few minutes, follow the waterfront, stop for a coffee or dinner, and wander through the old town without needing a car. The narrow streets, whitewashed houses, little churches, local shops and traditional tavernas are all part of everyday life around the house. Many of Skopelos Town’s restaurants, cafés and shops are within an easy walk, as are the waterfront and the boats connecting the town with other parts of the island.
The kitchen is designed to be used, not just admired, with everything you need to prepare a simple breakfast, lunch or dinner. There is also Wi-Fi, a Samsung smart TV with streaming services, a Sonos Bluetooth speaker, USB charging points on every floor, Nespresso coffee and a few thoughtful essentials waiting for you on arrival.
The Blue Door is a real Skopelos townhouse, in a real neighbourhood, in the heart of the town, while giving you your own comfortable place to come back to. As with any home in the historic centre, you are staying in the middle of local life rather than in a secluded resort setting—part of what makes the experience feel genuinely connected to Skopelos.
From morning coffee to a late dinner, a day at the beach or an evening wandering the old streets, The Blue Door is made for experiencing Skopelos at an unhurried pace.
Please note that The Blue Door is arranged over four floors connected by a wooden spiral staircase. For this reason, it is not suitable for very young children or guests with mobility difficulties.
