Our home offers accommodation for six guests with (2) King and (1) Queen beds. The kitchen has full-sized appliances and is fully furnished for brewing morning coffee and cooking for the whole family. Dirty Clothes? No problem, our home has a full-sized washer and dryer.
Our home offers a remote-work friendly environment with a small workspace in one of the bedrooms. The house is equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi and a Samsung smart TV in the living area and smart TVs in the bedrooms.
The property has a deck with table & chairs and a Weber gas grill for outdoor enjoyment. There is designated parking for two vehicles with additional street parking available.
The Sapphire Squirrel is in close proximity to the slopes (~3 min walk) with access to Lower Tyro when skiing and boarding is your focus.
Aside from the skiing, Wintergreen offers four seasons of adventure. There are plenty of options for outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, tubing, swimming, golfing, tennis, and apple picking. Wintergreen has over 14 miles of hiking trails on the mountain including Shamokin Falls!
For those looking to chill and enjoy some entertainment, Wintergreen is convenient to the Route 151 scene. A quick google search for "Nelson County 151" will give you details for the craft beverage trail including numerous breweries, wineries, distilleries, and cideries along the famous 151.
Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway at MP 13.6 (Reids Gap) is a short drive (~10 min) from our home. Sherando Lake is a state park (~25 min) that offers a beautiful lake for swimming, fishing, and trails.
If you want to venture out to town, Waynesboro is nearby (~25 min) and offers all the restaurants, stores, and conveniences you might expect. Charlottesville is a bit further and of course home to the University of Virginia and many other attractions.
Forgot something? Blackrock Market is less than 1 mile away, also on the top of the mountain. It offers groceries, gas and beer/wine. They also have a deli serving breakfast, sandwiches, salads, and pizzas.
