About this apartment rental
Our name, Alaska Big Five, celebrates Alaska’s five species of Pacific salmon—King, Sockeye, Coho, Pink, and Chum. These remarkable fish are at the heart of the Kenai River and represent the incredible outdoor experiences that bring visitors from around the world.
We have called this property home for more than 20 years. During that time, we’ve come to appreciate the quiet surroundings, abundant wildlife, and the unique lifestyle that makes the Kenai Peninsula such a special place. We decided to share that experience with others by opening our studio apartment to guests looking for more than just a place to stay.
Our private studio comfortably accommodates four guests with a queen-size bed, and a full-size Murphy bed. The apartment includes a full kitchen, Wi-Fi, Smart TV, both a Keurig and traditional coffee maker, and everything needed for a comfortable stay.
For anglers, we’ve added amenities designed with your trip in mind, including a fish-cleaning station with running water, freezer space for your catch, and room to park boats and trailers. Public fishing access and boat launches are just minutes away, making it easy to spend more time on the water.
Even if fishing isn’t your primary reason for visiting, you’ll enjoy relaxing around the fire pit after a day of exploring. It’s common to spot bald eagles soaring overhead and moose wandering through the area, offering guests an authentic Alaska experience right outside their door. We also have an apiary on site for watching the bees interact with local flora.
We’re located approximately ten miles from Soldotna and only about one mile from shopping, giving you easy access to restaurants, groceries, and local services while still enjoying the peace and privacy of a quiet country setting.
We live on the property and personally care for every aspect of your stay. Our goal is to provide a clean, comfortable, and welcoming place where guests can experience the best of Alaska. Whether you’re visiting for salmon fishing, wildlife viewing, hiking, photography, or simply to unwind, we hope Alaska Big Five becomes your home away from home on the Kenai Peninsula.
We look forward to welcoming you and sharing the Alaska we’ve been fortunate to call home for over two decades.
