About this cabin rental
Spoonbill Lodge is a whole-property rental for groups too big for a normal cabin. Up to 30 guests share five bedrooms, a study, and six bathrooms on 17 private acres of pine forest at 7,500 feet. There`s a home theater, a game room with arcade cabinets, a lit pickleball court, a firepit, and RV hookups. Bring the mountain bikes and ATVs, too. Built for family reunions, church and youth groups, company teams, and hunting parties.
The lodge and buildings sit on about five of the 17 acres. The other twelve are untouched ponderosa forest, and you`re welcome to explore all of it. Nothing is shared and nobody else is on site.
Sleeping: five bedrooms and a study over two floors. Madison`s Room (king, walk-in closet, freestanding tub) is on the main floor. Nora`s Room is a studio over the garage with its own entrance, a kitchenette, and a desk. Harper`s Room and Jane`s Room each have a queen, a queen sleeper sofa, and their own bathroom. The Window Room has two queens. The Study has a queen sleeper sofa. Four bedrooms have their own bathroom, and three air mattresses and five twin size pads cover the rest of the group.
Indoors: a kitchen built for more than one cook, a long dining table, a home theater with a 200-inch screen and a small stage, a game room with billiards and arcade cabinets, a stone fireplace, Starlink Wi-Fi, and two washers and two dryers.
Outside: a 750 sq ft deck with two grills, a lit pickleball and half-court basketball court, frisbee golf, a field, a firepit with firewood provided, RV hookups with a dump station, a horse corral, a dog run, and a Level 2 EV charger. Bring the mountain bikes, ATVs, side-by-sides, and dirt bikes: there`s room to unload trailers, and forest roads start close by.
Good to know: you`re at 7,500 feet, so nights are cool and winter brings snow. Cell signal is spotty, and the Wi-Fi is fast. Flagstaff and Payson are each 45 minutes away, and Phoenix is about 2.5 hours.
- The lodge is set up for up to 30 guests, and the beds sleep 20 adults comfortably. If your group is larger, message us before you book. RVs and tents are extra.
- The person booking must be 24 or older and staying with the group.
- Special occasions (reunions, retreats, small weddings) need our approval in advance. For a much larger group, message us early. Some plans need county permits and a lot of things most people don`t plan for, and they cost more.
- Dogs welcome with approval and a $200 pet fee. Keep them off the beds and the carpet.
- No smoking or vaping of any kind, anywhere on the property.
- Quiet hours are 10 pm to 6 am. Sound carries a long way out here.
- No hunting or shooting on the property.
- Check current forest fire restrictions before any outdoor fire, and use the firepit.
- Exterior cameras cover the entrances to the lodge and the outbuildings. There are none inside.
