S10 Seaview Penthouse

It was a lovely, spacious apartment with a good view across the bay. Beds were comfortable.

The interior of the apartment must have been pretty special when it was first done, but it hasn’t been maintained at all and is in need of some serious TLC. Lights didn’t work on the veranda overlooking the bay and the barbecue was disgusting and totally unusable. There was only one set of table and chairs on one veranda. The towels were very old and very rough, the sort you had when you were a student. The coffee machine leaked a lot, the few times we used it we sat it in a big frying pan to collect the water. There were ants on the kitchen surfaces at all times. The key to the front door worked smoothly enough from the inside, but we didn’t risk trying to fully lock the door from the outside in case it got jammed in the lock, which nearly happened when we first arrived. In the end we just pulled the door shut when we went out, which meant it was only locked on one bolt and not five. So not fully secure? The lift didn’t instill the greatest confidence, especially when you added the sign not to panic if you got stuck, as it would always return to the ground floor and open? There were a lot of things that should have been done better than they were, but they didn’t impinge on our holiday, we just expected a penthouse apartment, especially when you looked at the pictures of it, to be a lot better.
