The Neighborhood:
The Location,
You are perfectly positioned to enjoy the best of the Costa del Sol. Within minutes, you can reach the area’s finest beaches, championship golf courses, and the lively shops, cafés, and eateries of Cancelada. Whether you are looking for the glamour of nearby Puerto Banús and Marbella or the rustic charm of Benahavís, everything you could wish for is within easy reach.
Getting Around:
Rental Car (Recommended): This remains the most flexible way for guests to explore the Costa del Sol, especially if they plan to visit places like Ronda or nearby white villages. It is highly convenient for families with luggage and gear. Tip: If they need a rental, your guests might find the Goldcar offer (from their recent email) or services like Marbesol or local rental partners useful.
Taxis & Ride-Sharing: For guests who prefer not to drive, taxis are reliable and readily available.
Local Taxis: You can recommend Auto Taxi Estepona or Radio Taxi Estepona. These are reliable, often English-speaking, and accept card payments.
Apps: Uber and Bolt are active along the coast and are efficient for short trips or getting to Puerto Banús/Marbella without parking hassles.
Public Bus: The Avanza bus network is the primary public transport option for coastal towns like Marbella, Estepona, and Fuengirola. It is affordable and reliable, though it can get crowded during peak summer months.
Note: There is no direct train connection to Cancelada or Estepona; the train line (Cercanías) only reaches Fuengirola.
Other Things to Note:
Designed with a sleek, contemporary aesthetic, the apartment features bright, open-plan interiors that seamlessly flow onto a spacious terrace—the ideal spot for al-fresco dining while enjoying stunning views of the gardens, mountains, and the nearby sea. With top-tier finishes and modern infrastructure, this property provides a serene sanctuary for both holiday getaways and comfortable permanent living.
Family-Friendly Attractions
Estepona is excellent for families due to its blend of nature, safe beaches, and engaging activities.
1. Animals & Wildlife
Selwo Aventura (Estepona): This is the top recommendation. It is a large wildlife park that offers a safari-like experience with suspension bridges, animal encounters (elephants, giraffes, lions), and nature trails. It is perfect for a full-day family outing.
2. Beaches
Playa del Cristo: Highly recommended for families with young children. It is a semi-enclosed cove with very shallow, calm waters, which makes it safer for paddling and swimming.
Playa de la Rada: The main urban beach in Estepona. It is vast, has a long promenade perfect for walking, and features excellent amenities, lifeguards, and many chiringuitos (beach bars) for snacks.
3. Nature & Culture
Estepona Orchidarium: A unique glass-domed structure housing thousands of orchid species and a waterfall. It is peaceful, photogenic, and an educational "rain-or-shine" option.
Street Art/Murals Route: A fun, free activity. Families can walk through the historic town center on a scavenger hunt to find the giant murals painted on building facades.
Paleontology Museum: A small but fascinating stop for children interested in fossils and prehistoric history.
4. Fun & Active
Water Activities: During summer, the Fun Beach Park Estepona offers inflatable water parks directly in the sea.
Boat Trips: Many operators offer dolphin-watching cruises departing from the Estepona Port, which is a magical experience for children.
