Leśne Lato is a charming log house in Loryniec, in the heart of Kashubia, set beside the Wda River and close to Lake Schodno. It is a place for slowing down, reconnecting with nature and spending time around animals. Sleeping up to 8 guests, the house is a lovely choice for a family getaway or a peaceful stay with friends.
The Space:
Leśne Lato is a roughly 140 m² traditional log house, brought from the mountains to Kashubia. The ground floor features an open-plan kitchen and living room, a bathroom and a bedroom with a large double bed. Beside the fireplace, the living room has a comfortable sofa bed.
Upstairs, there is an open lounge area with a large window overlooking the surrounding nature, together with two small bedrooms. Each bedroom has two single beds that can be joined to create a larger bed. The house accommodates up to 8 guests. For younger children, a cot, high chair and baby bath are available.
The kitchen includes a dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, induction hob, oven, kettle, toaster and drip coffee maker. Guests also have access to cookware, tableware, cutlery, wine glasses and a mixer.
The bathroom has a shower and hairdryer, with shower gel and hand soap provided. The house also features a wood-burning fireplace.
Guest Access:
Guests have exclusive use of the house and its fenced outdoor area. Outside, there is a furnished terrace, garden, playground, sandbox, hammocks, sun loungers and a fire pit. The outdoor space also offers opportunities to spend time close to the hosts' farm animals.
An outdoor parking space is available directly beneath the house. Pets are welcome with no extra charge.
Guests can also enjoy spending time around the hosts' farm animals, including horses, sheep and chickens. Sheep can be petted and guests may collect eggs from the chicken coop, although egg availability cannot be guaranteed.
The Neighborhood:
Leśne Lato is located in Loryniec, in Kashubia, within the Wdzydze Landscape Park and the Tuchola Forest area. The house sits on a partly wooded plot beside the Wda River, around 700 metres from Lake Schodno. Forest and river landscapes surround the property, creating a peaceful setting for a nature-focused escape.
The area is well suited to cycling, easy hiking, kayaking, swimming, fishing, horse riding and mushroom picking. Wdzydze Kiszewskie is around 6 km away and is home to an open-air museum and the area's largest lake. The Szarlota mini zoo is around 8 km away. Other attractions mentioned by the hosts include a horse-riding centre, the Railway Museum and Bytów Castle.
Getting Around:
Leśne Lato can be reached by car and is approximately an hour from the Tri-City area. The final approach includes a forest or gravel road, and parking is available directly beneath the house.
Public transport is also possible. The Robus bus service connects Kościerzyna with Loryniec, with the nearest stop around 1 km from the house. By train, guests can travel from Gdynia or Gdańsk Wrzeszcz to Kościerzyna and continue by bus. A taxi from Kościerzyna is also available, with the listing quoting a fare of PLN 85
Other Things to Note:
Leśne Lato is a seasonal property rather than a year-round accommodation. The property is closed from 1 November to 31 April. Check-in is available from 15:00 to 21:00 and check-out is by 11:00. Earlier arrival or later departure may be possible by prior arrangement.
There is no Wi-Fi or air conditioning, mobile reception is weak, and the wooden floors may creak. Mosquitoes can appear on warm days, while on colder days guests need to light the fireplace themselves. Martens occasionally appear on the roof. The property does not accept groups for integration trips and parties are not permitted.
